I'm sure the name Westbank was briefly floated around until they realized... https://westbankcorp.com/

It is owned by him. There's article related to the sale; he paid $31,000,000 back in 2018! https://torontolife.com/real-estate/condos/peter-gilgan-new-owner-torontos-expensive-condo/

Skyscraper enthusiasts are going to be triggered at that 299 number ?

    Toronto Toronto | Q Tower | 197.4m | 59s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

Quick lil 5 minute rendering I sauced up to illustrate, doesn't really go too well with the whole slope down towards the west that SouthCore has. Skyline image via forum member BB ON via July 3 daily photo: https://urbantoronto.ca/news/2019/07/skyline-view-toronto-islands Rendered tower via...

    Toronto Toronto | Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 1) | 231m | 70s | Menkes | a—A

Fixed it for you considering this is the most CTRL+C + CTRL+V architecture I've ever seen down to the heights, floor plates, and now materials.
  8. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | 160 Front West | 239.87m | 46s | Cadillac Fairview | AS + GG

TD Bank is now the 8th largest bank in the US which from my understanding a decent amount of their stateside operations are reliant on their Canadian offices. Quite the time for TD as they'll also be anchoring the 4th tallest building in NYC upon completion, One Vanderbilt.
  9. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Anyone who questions how this project will turn out needs to take a look at Hudson Yards. I have no doubt we’ll receive a project of similar quality.
  10. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | 591 Sherbourne | 152.65m | 51s | Medallion | Arcadis

True, and also within the threshold which the CTBUH defines as a skyscraper.
  11. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | Sun Life Financial Tower & Harbour Plaza Residences | 236.51m | 67s | Menkes | Sweeny &Co

Took this on my last visit to Toronto. One thing I wish we had more of here in Boston is lighting on top of high rise buildings.
  12. NorthshoreCity

YSL Residences - Yonge Street Living (Cresford) - Real Estate -

Imagine buying a space here and parking a Range Rover or Maserati conscious to the fact that the parking spot cost more than your luxury vehicle... Unbelievable that spaces are really getting that expensive.
  13. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | The Well | 174.03m | 46s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

Those residential towers remind me of the Coast at Lakeshore East tower by bKL in Chicago, which was recognized for an AIA Chicago Design Excellence Award in 2014: https://www.aiachicago.org/dea_archive/2014/coast-at-lakeshore-east/ Perhaps Toronto receives it in its crystallized form, but I...

    Toronto Toronto | The HUB | 258.46m | 59s | Oxford Properties | Rogers Stirk Harbour

Yeah this design sort of took a 160 Front style L with this height reduction. Looks a lil stubby but I sort of like the addition of the Boston Prudential Center style box & spire on top.

    Fantasy Renderings

Some renderings of a reference massing model I created for a school project. It's on the One Yonge Street Site.
  16. NorthshoreCity

    Boston | 121 Seaport | ?m | 17s | Skanska | CBT

This one is definitely complete - at least it's an attempt to stand out in a seaport of glazing and 250 foot height-restricted towers:
  17. NorthshoreCity

    Boston | Seaport Square Block M | ?m | ?s | Cottonwood | CBT

Progress photos from today, bottom image is from June 10, 2018 - this complex flew skyward. I suppose the proof in the speed of this project has to do with weekend hours as they were working on it today. Also, the name for this project is Echelon Seaport, here's a link to the official project...
  18. NorthshoreCity

    Boston | Marine Wharf Hotel | 48.77m | 15s | Harbinger

Crane is in and structural steel is up to level 2.
  19. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

An amazing part of this photo is how Eau du Soliel creates the appearance of another major city skyline in the distance to the far right!
  20. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

They have year-round LED lights on the crane for the new Four Seasons here in Boston - it creates a nice dynamic which I'd like to see more often
