New development in Plan-It. 9 towers total, on 6 podiums, ranging from 30-58 floors. Looks to be done in 3 phases. On Jane st. south of Hwy 7. Lots of green space between and around buildings. 4,563 Residential Units 2,371.1 m2 of Retail 364,330.6 m2 of Residential (woah)

I'm all for height when it comes to buildings, but these towers look so out of place. They are on top of a "hill" and by far the tallest things for a few kilometers. Plus the look isn't very good (IMO). They just don't look good and they tower over everything nearby.

Today: Interesting design on the "bridge" over the driveway. Seems like really thick triangles that will limit the window space. Feat: A goose that thinks it is a flamingo

Is there any chance the design of the Phase 3 tower changes by the time construction on that begins? It looks very similar to the Skytower design and I know it'll be a few years before phase 3 gets underway. Are the designs "locked in"? Any insight would be much appreciated!

(obligatory 'I'm new here' start to this question) Is this how the whole building will go up? Large steel beams followed by scaffolding and "floor pours"? Because just this first floor has taken what has felt like months, surely there will be faster progress as this building grows, right?

I'm still a newbie, I'll get the hang of it one day! Glad to contribute, it was fun exploring downtown today!

Not sure why some are having trouble viewing the photos. Not entirely sure of forum etiquette but I made a google photos album of them if people want to take a look. https://photos.app.goo.gl/YQiwUbcyFgYF8jzt5

I know this will appear smaller as the core goes up, but the giant TD branding is really obnoxious at street level right now.

By my count (plus the floor numbers on the elevator) this is at floor 26/27 currently. All taken this afternoon. You can really see the apparent tilt this has on the south side.

This site is so much bigger than I imagined. The glass on the podium is also very reflective, so hopefully that quality continues as these towers grow.

I live in Vaughan and have never really had the chance to see this beauties up close, so I decided to take a drive and walk around the south core today. Pictures don't do this building justice. Wish it was a sunnier day today but still got some nice pictures I think. Reflection off of Sugar...

It's not like the developments north of 7 are kilometres away, it's literally just across the street. I can assure you, you can see the transit condos from both the 407 and 400.

We got spoiled by those few days of columns going up. Everyday that is just regular ole construction feels lame. Thanks @Benito for the photos nonetheless though! Hopefully more exciting construction days to come soon!

It's crazy how different this view will look in 10 years. Even just a year from now it's going to be so much more built up.

Updated renderings. Shows a more open podium with a wide open walkway between the 2 residential towers. Colour scheme on the office building seems different as well.

Now that the 8 angled beams are up, what do we think the next step is? Like what does next week have in store for us? How long until the actual mega beams come into play? And thanks for the great photos @Benito !
