    Calgary | Connaught Mixed Use | 114.29m | 37s | Cressey | Chris Dikeakos

I feel like this thread could use a poll :)

    General Construction Updates

Cool, thanks!. perfect building for it. I wonder if they are replacing the glass? Having it tinted like that probably is okay for the guests, cuz they get more privacy, but man that 80's mirrored glass is awful from the outside.

    Calgary | West Village Towers | 149.95m | 42s | Cidex Group | NORR Dubai Yahya Jan

Yep, all of Cidex's developments are backed by pension funding.

    General Construction Updates

Is it this office building at 4th ave between 5th and 6th street? I think I remember hearing something about this a year or two ago.

    Calgary | Trail 19 | 22.25m | 6s | Eagle Crest | FAAS Architecture

Looks great. This is perfect for Edmonton Trail. speaking of which, I saw what looks to be another proposal along Edmonton Trail at around 22nd ave.

    Calgary | Calgary Cancer Centre | 75m | 14s | Province of Alberta | Stantec

This building is becoming noticeable from all over the city now.

    Calgary | The Fifth | 17m | 5s | Arlington Street | NORR

They probably think you're someone they owe money to.

    Calgary | Wellings of Calgary | 49.68m | 14s | Wellings of Calgary | Onespace

Surprisingly nice for a suburban development.

    Calgary | Irvine | 23.47m | 6s | Torode | NORR

Worst case scenario, is if it's stucco, it won't be great, but I think it will still fit into the area 'reasonably well'.

    Calgary | The Fifth | 17m | 5s | Arlington Street | NORR

Correction. It is an ASI project, should be 'on the possibility that Fifth might get constructed' ;)

    Calgary | RNDSQR Block | 44.8m | 12s | RNDSQR | 5468796 Architecture

Yeah, if those who are still left at SSP don''t like it, it means the project is great.

Maybe they're shooting for 12 and hoping for 8? I would be okay with this same vision but pared down to 8 floors, but if it went in at 12 I'd be okay with that too, mainly because if you're going to do 12 floors in Inglewood, that's the location to do it.

    Calgary | Era | 41.15m | 13s | Minto

On of the guys, I think it might have been Surrealplaces? was attacked or robbed at that intersection years back. It wasn't the kind of place you'd hang around.

    Calgary | Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

It looks good on the inside, much the same as all new gen arenas. The one thing I don't care for is the amount of gap between the lower and upper bowl. The other new gen arenas I've been to (Vancouver, Toronto and St Paul) have better flow between upper and lower bowl.. Rogers Arena upper bowl...

That's friggin amazing! I sure hope this gets built.

    Calgary | The Dorian | 98.45m | 27s | PBA Land Development | Gibbs Gage

You called it. Any other construction starts coming up?

    Calgary | PLATFORM | 21m | 6s | CMLC | Kasian

I had my doubts about this one when I first saw the renderings, but I'm liking it more as it goes along. We don't have a lot of building s in Calgary with curved massing.
  18. Habanero

    Calgary | Annex | 29.87m | 9s | Minto Group | Nyhoff Architecture

Moving along at a nice pace.
  19. Habanero

    Calgary | Steps Bridgeland | 18m | 6s | Giustini Development | Sturgess

It would be nice for this get built, even to see another Sturgess project completed. Steps and Avli are two of the coolest low rise devs ion the city.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Glad to see that area getting some love. It's about time. Surprising that in a downturned economy, land that wouldn't be considered very desirable (near train tracks) is getting developed. I would have expected it the other way around.
