I dont have any documents off the top of my head. But Montreal decided to move away from bi-directional cycle tracks because they are less safe than having one on each side of the road. So you give access to emergency vehicles but then you risk having more bike-car crashes.

There is room at the NE corner of Osgoode and Queen. The detailed locations of the stations are built by engineers. Pretending that the details are a stroke of some politician's ego ignores the reality of building infrastructure. Do you blame Tory for the model of urinals in Toronto parks? Do...

Osgood Hall's greenspace is enclosed with metal bars with spikes with gates that look closed. I have been living in the GTA for a decade and only after the OL did I realize that this space is actually open to the public. I wonder how many people walking by had the same impression seeing how it's...

Good catch I find it hilarious that the court documents show that the trees on site were planted a decade after discussions on the Queen Subway started. (granddaddy plan of the OL) These are not 200yo magical trees. They are not more special than the trees planted after the Yonge Subway cut...

I had no position in that post. I simply conjured the ultimate end to people's arguments. We can shift the station North, South, East, West, Horizontally, or Vertically. In the end, the station will impact something of value to someone in the city. This is a dense center of a 230yo city and this...

I have an 𝒾𝒹𝑒𝒶™ How about we cancel the Osgoode OL station? There is already a subway station there. No need for duplication. The OL will connect to Line 1 about 600m east of there. Will save the 5 trees! It will also reduce potential NIMBY delays. Everyone wins!

Reading how we got to this point would make you laugh and cry. The SRT is crumbling because the City could not decide on how they want to rehabilitate the SRT a project that was gimped by political fighting. But it didn't need to be this way. The Vancouver Skytrain and the SRT are the same tech...

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

You can look up the term 'premetro'. The Crosstown can be considered one if you squint hard. But it wasn't built with conversion to high floor in mind. So grade-separating the surface section, if that ever happens, will be low floor probably. Compared to today. But that is not relevant. They...

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I find it amusing that people pretend the city never replaced lines before. Lines 1 and 2 used to be streetcars. Eglinton and Finch are being switched from busses. The TTC and city council botched the Scarborough RT Mark II upgrades which got the SRT switched to Subway TRs in a tunnel. The...

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

We live in Toronto where pipes and winter both have existed for centuries. I'm sure they will know to maintain it in winter. 😑

Further, it says a preliminary report on the changes will be out at the end of the week and a final one in June. According to La Presse CDPQ Infra is still working on plans for REM extensions to Boucherville, Laval and Lanaudière.

The hole has been there for so long that I think it should get heritage status.

The past does not guarantee the future. The OL in Toronto and the REM in Montreal show that designing and building transit can be fast if given priority. We are in a golden age of transit building in Canada that has not been seen in decades. There is no indication of what is coming next for...

Mind linking to where Metrolinx confirming that a future extension is aimed to get to Roncesvalles? First time I hear of it.

Are people forgetting that the Relief Line South alone had a target opening date of 2029-31? How long do you think it would have taken to build the North section under the former Liberal gov? Go look for clues in how much they waffled on Finch, Hamilton, Hurontario, Shepard East LRT, High-Speed...

More garage space means more buses. More buses, ideally, means more service. Sometimes the service is underfunded and not enough operators are hired to drive all the new buses.
