Calgary’s lack of innovative and diverse options led me to search elsewhere for the city life I wanted

You mean did you noticed the double speak or speaking out of both sides of your mouth?

I wasn't calling out your post at all. Just stating that this won't be about Oil and Gas, it will be about everything else and resource revenue is just the cherry on top.

Calgary is going to boom in my view, capital is flowing into the province from different places and jobs will follow. I mean Calgary just got another airline for two based in the city now. Lots of new tech firms are starting up and moving there, BC and Ontario investors like me are starting to...

Calgary’s lack of innovative and diverse options led me to search elsewhere for the city life I wanted

Vancouver is a terrible place if your poor or just working class, I laugh at the trades guys trying to live the SE calgary lifestyle in the lower mainland, now after this run they are having to commute from Chiliwack with their brodozers. Have fun with the $2 gas that ain't going anywhere...

Calgary’s lack of innovative and diverse options led me to search elsewhere for the city life I wanted

For what its worth, when I moved to Calgary in 2008 dt was dead. I made a point of going down there to purchase at some of the same stores that were close to my house (shoppers or the like) and lots of people i met thought I was crazy. The point i always tried to make was that my purchase would...

I just got a updated price list from Argyle in UD, $500+ sq ft for a Calgary woodie seems a bit on the high side, but it if they are getting that then good on them. It still works on the upper end of my investment criteria, but it just feels slightly off.

This picture doesn't feel like the same city from the last oil boom... I'm still pumped on the Calgary market.

I was never expting 10th avenue to have the canyon effect, its amazing how much it has changed since 2010.

Must be a pure price play because stick frame in Seton isn't really competitive with something like a beltline $350k 1 bedroom.

You have discovered the Cash Flow/ Appreciation debate. Can you really have both in a single market? I'm not sure, but what I try to do is try to avoid making a cash flow play in an appreciation market and an appreciation play in a cash flow market. For me Calgary is purely a cash flow market...

I use to live on this street, glad to see it becoming a bit of a retail strip. We need more of this scale of development to truly fill out the surrounding areas of the core.

Im pretty open and have a good dialogue with SurrealPlaces.. I have just minted about $400k on one pre sale in YVR since Summer 2020. I will be looking to deploy a portion of that capital into the Calgary market. Its anecdote, but i suspect this is similar feeling to many YVR and GTA based...

    Calgary & Alberta Economy

i have a hunch that interest rates won't go up by any meaningful amount, and the impacts to the GTA and Vancouver housing markets will be a temporary blip. Things have moved so far so fast people are sitting on a stupid amount of gains, hell one of my presale properties is sitting on a nearly...

I guess Neo wanted to be close to one of its major promoters of their products. HBC has really been pushing their Neo backed card lately. The modernization of the Bay with Neo as a partner is probably good for both companies.

This is a different project, Kanas was not involved in the first project. This one might be better dead than as now proposed.

it cracks me up how hard it is to get a solid render car in there.... who seriously decided on a ford edge which was last produced in 2014?

    Calgary | Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

does CSEC have an approved BP? does the City get to decide they can opt out of policies and DP requirements if they are part of an application? All this shows the fact that the average person doesn't understand development and CSEC sure doesnt. They should come to Vancouver and see the pretzel...
