    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

I agree with the sentiments voiced re low HOV enforcement on 404--I have never seen anybody pulled on that stretch despite taking 404 quite often. Appr 6 years ago I have been using 403 HOV lane for commuting (sharing a ride with my wife) and almost every single day there was a police patrol...

Thanks sMT! Indeed, the towers will be razor-thin and, if cladding is good, will create quite a gateway to the NYCC (along with Hullmark Centre)!. The east tower crane will be re-located some time soon as now it is outside of the building's envelop. Re sunnyray comments--I think he is right that...

It is 3 storey above the setback, so with another 6-7 floors plus fancy mechanical roof it will be quite tall for the location. It is already visible from Yonge and Sheppard. A night shot from Aug 13:

How about trees on the west side? Are they planning to plant any? I see them in the rendering... Overall, I like the design and finishes, definitely it does have some European flavour and appeal.

Totally agree! I used to live in St. Petersburg, which has one of the deepest (if not the deepest) subway system in the world. Actually, the deep stations (one of them 86m deep) were my favourite! It takes some time to get to the bottom, so you have time to relax, think a bit or read your book...

Bazis posted July 22nd updates, one of the shots: I am a bit puzzled by the last note on the update: "By fall we aim to be on top of the first tower!" Do they mean they will be taking pictures from the top part of the first tower? There is no way they can top it out, even by late November...

Nice to know too! It is a nice and relatively light lens (EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM), my workhorse :) But for wide, panoramic views I prefer 10-22.

Thanks 42 and SMT! I think it was around 10 sec, but I can check exif info to be sure. The L lens helps a bit :)

Bazis placed updates on their website. I like the non-boxy lines of the podium. Some of the images: While their progress expectations in the past were too high in relation to what they actually managed to complete, here is a new plan:

thedeepend, you are mixing cognitive disability with cognitive diversity... 50% of population are in the right tail of the gaussian bell; those are still good and decent folks, but their ability to think rationally is somewhat affected.
