    Edmonton Companies News & Discussion

I read some articles online and found out that Servus' CEO lives in Calgary. That's probably why...I don't understand why a Edmonton headquartered company can allow a CEO to be in another city. Isn't the CEO supposed to move where the headquarters are? This article also says there are executive...

I love the atmosphere at the Brewery district. It gives off a big city vibe. This one from my friend's balcony.

Please don't tell me they are using stucco on their exterior. I thought they were going to be using spandrel glass...

Not exactly where to put this post but this is for the SE corner (137 ave and 97 st) where the existing retail spaces are. They cut down all the trees and seems like they're moving ahead with something. I remember someone saying that it was supposed to be a grocery store but that fell through?

I just realized that this building isn't symmetrical. The south-east side of the building is actually slanted. Now looking back at the renders, it was always slanted but didn't notice it until I saw these construction photos.

Well this isn't good. Flair is always trying new routes with Edmonton but it's been difficult...I hope they don't give up on Edmonton. https://www.radionl.com/2023/07/25/flair-airlines-to-end-direct-kamloops-to-edmonton-flight-in-september/

Found these photos on the architect's website that I don't think they've been posted on here before. https://hariripontarini.com/projects/the-parks/

Based on some of the recent photos, how are they building that 13 story link? They already have the building up to the ~7th floor already. You can see the shape of the building and balcony "cut-outs" on the south facing side where there's supposed to be the link.

West jet is shutting down Swoop. I don’t think there’s much impact to YEG as some of those flights from Swoop is already transferred to Westjet a few months ago. Swoop only has a few destinations out of YEG now compared to 20 destinations at the peak if I remember correctly...

    Edmonton | Stantec Tower | 250.84m | 66s | ICE District Prop.

I thought it was city council (city admin?) that voted it down because they didn’t want that huge “advertisement screen” on the top. I don’t understand what the huge problem with having a big logo on the top. A lot of buildings have logo on the top. They should have at least kept the light on...

    Edmonton | Falcon Towers | 170m | 44s | Langham Developments | Arc Studio

I should have been clearer…you can see the “cut-out/indented” part of the concrete on each floor. The part that looks “indented” is where the glass will go. The part that sticks out would be the balconies, If that makes sense.

It looks like you can already see where that strip of glass is going to go. it doesn’t look that wide, I was hoping to see more of it…

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Just went to Edmonton airport Wikipedia page and found out that Swoop is pretty much cutting all Canadian destinations out of YEG. Checked on Swoop's website and it does appear to be like that. Wondering what Swoop is doing? Are they folding Swoop up? The fact that YEG-YYZ is getting cut is...

Looks like AC is changing their to not compete directly with Westjet but intentionally routing people from SK to their 3 hubs. https://www.cjme.com/2022/12/06/air-canada-suspending-flights-to-calgary-out-of-saskatchewan-in-2023/

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

If you go to their website and look at their current network map, they have removed quite a bit of destinations from Edmonton . Off the top of my head, they included Los Angeles/Burbank, San Francisco, San Diego, Nashville, Comox, Kamloops, Kelowna, Comox, Saskatoon? Regina? Winnipeg and Cancun...

This just posted today from Qualico. The first two residential buildings will contain more than 600 apartment units...

777 Partners orders 66 Boeing 737 Max's and some will be going to Flair. I wonder how many are actually going to Flair as that was one of the major concerns with Canadian Transportation Agency. Nonetheless, they seem to be on target with acheiving their "F50" goal, having 50 planes by 2025. They...
