Looks good - I like those!
I was also in the market for a new bike earlier this autumn. After sampling some used Batavus and Gazelles, I decided to use tune up my old no-name dutch bike. New saddle, serviced chain, and zipties to quell the squeaks and rattles. It works well now, but is not...
There are some new breweries planned for Leslieville in 2017, to join Left Field.
How many you ask? Would you believe, 6?

Kind of a funny summary - thanks for posting! 2 of the 4 coffee shops mentioned in the article are closed, 1 is known throughout the city, and 1 is odd. And they forgot the 'hood's #2 option, the Scullery.
Epicure is open again, rejoice!

Planned End Date: November 30, 2016

In other news, Richmond Street is starting to open up after months of construction and a reduction to one lane (many cyclists took to the sidewalk on the stretch around Church/Yonge). The cycle lanes have been repainted, the repaving seems to be complete, and the turn radius has been reduced on...

There is lots of new retail in the 'hood - the Yogurty's location beside Jet Fuel is now a tip-top pizza place called Salt & Tobacco (I've been 5x already - highly recommend). The former Labor of Love location is a high-end cosmetics store. And the strip north of Carlton/Parliament will soon...
Municipal roads in the City of Toronto are already funded from "general city revenue" - that is, property tax. We all contribute to them whether we drive or not. Of course sidewalks and bike lanes should be funded in the same manner.
OK, new topic:
Toronto's newest cycle path must be Bayview Ave from Rosedale Valley Road to Pottery Road. The paving finished up last week, and the connection to the east side Don Valley trail via a new pedestrian bridge is to be completed this autumn.
I found the trail surprisingly narrow...
I wonder if this will change. The east side of Bayview now has a cycle / walking path to connect Rosedale Valley Road and Pottery Road. This is helpful for anyone travelling to the Brickworks.
