    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Your trip can be significantly cheaper if you tap off and on again at Union during a transfer since you get a $4.71 discount on your fare every time you transfer. For example, GO Transit lists a Long Branch GO to Scarborough GO fare as $7.78 but you can get it for $4 if you tap off and back...

I attempted that to get home from Union just now but the website was so laggy that I gave up. The card released my bike in 2 seconds.

I just put my physical card back in my wallet. Tired of using their downgraded app that doesn't generate 5 digit codes. Annoying to have to carry an extra card, but less annoying than to get my phone to scan their QR codes, if they're not scratched off.

If my very first tap was on GO, I'd be charged $3.70. I had an earlier TTC tap.

That's what I did, hence the charge only being 40 cents for GO. Taking the TTC first gives you 2 hours and taking GO gives you 3 hours giving you a maximum of 5 hours, not 7.

We're going in circles, but I literally do this every week and it's always 3 hours after GO. Here's another example where I barely made the cutoff.

Ok? My point was that your GO transfer window becomes your TTC transfer window if you tap onto TTC after GO. It does not ever extend past the GO transfer window. GO even states this on their website. https://www.gotransit.com/en/your-commute-to-go/go-transit-local-transit-partners

...that's 5 hours, and you'd actually have until 7:06pm to use the TTC since your GO transfer becomes your TTC transfer:

5 hours is the max since when you tap onto the TTC after using GO, your transfer expires 3 hours from when you first tapped on GO.

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

I saw a parade of people transferring from Bloor GO to Dundas West Station during the afternoon rush a few weeks ago. Makes sense to take GO for 40 cents more if your office is near Union.

So Fast-Track is basically Mississauga's version of SmartTrack.

Yep, Spadina has the slowest average speed of any streetcar even though it has a ROW. 8.6km/h...barely faster than walking.

Agreed, but Toronto will never. They won't even do it on the Eglinton LRT.

I'm not comparing against cars. 9.4km/h is less than twice as fast as walking lol. And that's when the King pilot was working well.

16 minutes to go 2.5km is still slow. Cars are one reason why streetcars are slow, but it's not the only reason.

Agreed. But Toronto will never do that so the problem continues.

Except it currently requires a transfer, and takes 75 minutes from Leslieville to St Joseph's according to Google. Also, you're probably going to be standing so it won't be relaxing. I don't blame people for driving with how slow our streetcars are.

That's the other reason why I always generate 5 digit codes lol
