His Deco-invoiced 2010 campaign magnets, paid for with campaign money, said the same thing. He has not reported an office expense for magnets (paid by himself or the city) since being elected.

"That's going to be Ford Nation, coming at these guys." Worth reviewing who came over the hill, and how that worked for them. http://youtu.be/xLaVpFhGW4w

But the description of what happened isn't accurate, including why it was decided to lower the Canadian flag to half mast. It was to recognize the people who died on the streets. This is the description, from the City of Toronto meeting agenda:

The decision was to fly the main *Canadian* flag in front of City Hall at half mast in recognition of Ukranians who died during protests. Details.

"They." Who? Does someone have to be white to make comments about the demographics of immigrants? - One has to be thoughtful, balanced, and self-critical, if one wishes to be respected. There is no need for sweeping statements about culture(s) that one has no/limited connection to - without...

What if they don't want to be left out? What if, through this, they are learning about using their voices and contributing to democracy? How is it a bad thing?

There is right here, where creepy straight guys creep during Pride, then grand stand at city council. But could we maybe keep the focus on "Mayor Rob Ford's Toronto" - the subject of this thread?

The woman is a staff member working for the mayor's office. She is not the same person as the woman pictured here. Unrelated:

"How much 'loyalty' does he have to not squeal like a little girl....to save his zzz?" Gosh, I could almost imagine a Ford saying something like this. Please, do explain what creates the extra kick of saying an adult male would act in a stereotyped, ridiculed manner of an immature female.

My understanding is that political staff typically gets time in lieu. That said, there is also an understanding that staff are committed to the office ... and, if they have political ambitions of their own, they will often be eager to prove themselves. And not complain about long (unpaid) hours...

I filed a complaint about Ford staffers being used for football. All I can say is regular hours aren't part of the deal if you are hired to work for a member of council ... and you get no union protection. Details about regs for these workers can be found in the council handbook Rob hasn't...

See my quote immediately above. He is paid by the city. ParkdalePetunia is right: people who are not on the city's payroll typically cannot sit on the floor of Council during meetings.

What do you base this statement on? My understanding is that he is a member of the mayor's staff.

Amin Massoudi went out west with him a few months ago: no city business. He is on the City of Toronto's payroll.

The driver is a city employee, but in a political office. No overtime, though time in lieu could be negotiable. Not unionized. He prefers the title special assistant, correcting reporters who call him a driver. He is the person who photographed the public during a Council meeting, under...

This is exploding on #TOpoli / twitter. I tweeted The Daily Show, begging them to play it as an intro Thursday for Robyn Dolittle.

I'm hoping this doesn't get lost in the book excitement ... beaglelover, any talk about making a video? I've already listened to it several times, and am sharing it with others, too. Really great job.
