GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

As one from Kitchener who goes downtown fairly regularly, I wouldn't be surprised if people still drive to Burlington rather than take the train from Niagara. 2+ hours on a GO train is not very fun. I generally drive to Aldershot instead of going direct from Kitchener.

    Greenbelt

From the moment he won the party leadership, I called Dumpster Fire. And nothing he has done since has proven me wrong. We have 3.5 more years of this.

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

If all have the equipment installed and burn in successful and any deficiencies along the line are addressed, early spring? End of April is the spring/summer schedule change, so that's a logical start date, but who knows.

Spring 2019 is the latest in-service date.

For a government who has shown decisions based on spite is not beneath them, I wouldn't be surprised if they're pulling this as some sort of penalty for voting elsewhere. Not that retribution has ever shown to work well for anyone... but facts and logic don't matter.

    Toronto Toronto | Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Looked like most of the restaurants were open, or at least staffed at 8 this morning. You can tell the staff are fairly new; definitely some growing pains at Tim Horton's, but I'm patient and understand the circumstances. I hope others are affording the same.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Torbram Road: temporary tracks are being dismantled as permanent tracks are now on the new spans. Excuse the quality.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Two notes from Bramalea area: 1. There's a massive hole in the west end of the north lot for the new pedestrian access to the west tunnel. There was a backhoe and dumptruck moving earth around yesterday morning as I passed through. 2. Tracks have been laid (may not be in final configuration) on...

    VIA Rail

I've seen CN equipment on the track at the west end of Kitchener a few times lately.

Roads: Highway 401 Widening - Highway 8 to Highway 410 (MTO, U/C, Planned)

The signs (yellow and black arrows) from the collector to express transfer are still there (just before the collectors dip south at the 410/403) from the temporary lanes during the last stage. Too bad the barriers have been extended across.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Some of the graffiti makes the corridor visually appealing on walls and sound barriers that are quite bland looking, not that I advocate for vandalism of any sort. Most of it is ugly, but occasionally you see the piece that could have the artist heading towards a good career if their canvas was...

How long is your regular daily commute?

I have to get to Bloor/Yonge from the west end of Kitchener twice per week. Depending on which mode I take (single car family), it can take anywhere from 1hr30m (driving all the way) - 3hr (walk / GRT / GO train / subway). I've generally settled on driving to Aldershot as taking GO as the...

Roads: Ambassador & Gordie Howe Bridges

The last time I crossed the Ambassador, we somehow ended up in downtown Detroit instead of on the highway headed west. It wa the middle of the day on a Friday, but still not where we wanted to be going.
