Sorry to bring this back with no real news ....but has this project been cancelled? Especially with the market cooling down at such a rapid rate and the introduction of 2 mega projects that include condos. It wouldn't be such a loss for Concord because Cityplace is pretty much filled but it...

http://www.osga.com/artman/publish/article_10655.shtml MGM Resort's Vision is best for Toronto "That brings us to Exhibition Place and MGM Resort's proposal to spend up to $4 billion to build a resort casino there. I spoke to Steve Wolstenholme, the Canadian representative for MGM resorts, and...

What does Vaughan mean when he says casinos cost jobs? That might be the most idiotic thing he has said ever, unless I'm misunderstanding... Casinos will bring jobs and he is talking as if it is a great peril to the economy...

^Agreed. If this entire proposal is to go through, there needs to be some money put on infrastructure and transportation (not buses that simply drive to and from) but in LRTs or even subways (though I know that probably isn't realistic). However, if this proposal is to go through Oxford needs...

Not the best looking tower but the nicely landscaped front can make up for it. Also love the tall pillars at ground floor but I cant help but think I've seen this somewhere before.

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

Ok how about this? Instead of tearing down the Gardiner (too expensive, not worth it, wont solve anything...blah blach etc) How about taking apart the roads that go below or past the Gardiner to the waterfront? That way...the entire underneath of the Gardiner and onward to the lake is made...

Well said, I can assure you that many who complain that the theater is going to be torn down haven't even been there. Like many have said, the theater wasn't gaining any popularity and is not as significant as people claim it is. Sure, that doesn't mean the theater should be torn down, but...

I hoepe they do chop this one. Just disappointing overall. There is a part of me that just wants to accept the boxes like many on this forum have but thats what I like to call deveopers "lowering our standards" so that they can make cheap shit with high returns. At the end of the day, its a...

It is a very good looking podium but too bad it will have almost no street level association.

^ Its all opinionated. I personaly think that building is quite nice, original and yet has a nice flow design that is still original. However the blue colours are a bit too much. Anyway, I'm sure Toronto would be able to build such towers if developers were given the freedom to. Too much time...

^^Definetly agree over here. A lot of Torontonians think that this is still the Toronto from 20 years ago when it was more like Mississauga. Then they are the same ones complaining that Toronto isnt a world class city. Well it never will be when its own inhabitants resist progress. Sure, height...

Well, it wouldn't make a huge difference to where the proposal is already right now (Front Street). Also, a casino on the waterfront would have a caused a full out revolt by everyone downtown considering even this decent proposal is being scrutinized. Also, can't build a casino on the idlands...

Wow... great proposal!!! Talk about a game-changer along with the Mirvish project :) The only critiques I can find is that the hotels don't look too impressive and make the office towers bigger because that design deserves to be a supertall.

Ugh I really don't know why people on this forum like this building. This one reminds me a lot of the apartment buildings in Flemo park (Don Mills) except for the colour and the glass. It has that typical two sides with an elevator running through the middle design. Well, I just hope it looks...

Hi, First post so I thought I should introduce myself... I'm just a architecture enthusiast and have been following UT and other skyscraper forums for a while while never joining as a member so I thought I might as well now. Anyway here is just part of the interview with the press...
