Yeah, it turned out decent...but just overcooked with the colors. Developers here just can't seem to get out of their own way sometimes.

I dunno, I think the Pointe of View set on the west side give them some serious competition. Tarjan Pointe is the ultimate low in my opinion. Either way, giving our ugliest projects the most visible locations is basically a Calgary tradition.

The Saddledome site would be a pretty weird location to have a new tallest.

Also thread only goes back to 2018 and doesn't even include CalgaryNEXT or any arena talk beforehand.

Instead of overloading on premium/suite stuff, I think what actually be nice to have is a dedicated family section. It doesn't have to be anything special, just an area where you can take kids without wondering if you're going to be surrounded by drunks whose every third word is an f-bomb. Not...

Yeah, I wish this was all brick like that one townhouse development along Memorial Drive in Parkdale. But I assume that's quite a different price point than this one. Any brick these days feels like a win.

This one is close to me and the brick has definitely elevated the aesthetics of this project. I just wish they went with a siding color that better paired with the red brick.

I wish they could've made the street level little less sterile/generic in terms of material choices, but overall feels decent. It's nice that they angled the tower, as it adds some dynamism to a somewhat ho-hum design. I imagine the height of this thing will get some community pushback...which...

Yeah, they really should just fold anything Fort Calgary related to Heritage Park, and redevelop the whole area into a cool festival/athletic park or something. I work across the street, and LOVE history, yet still can't muster up the energy to visit this place. Heritage Park does feel more like...

How timely of them to do a Canada theme right now.

Fine with me. The more "standard" seating the more likely us normies may be able to afford a seat once in a blue moon.

I run a design studio myself, and having an overarching concept definitely helps to move the design process along, as well as to help bring (usually not particularly creative) clients on board by attaching a story to the idea. Having said that, there's definitely a fine line, and the amount of...

    Cars, Pedestrians, Cyclists and Transit

European cities definitely do a better job of offering alternate modes of transportation...although comparing ourselves to Europe is always a bit of tough sell considering their compactness. I'd be curious to see how we compare to someone like Australia, another country with vast distances...

    Cars, Pedestrians, Cyclists and Transit

I was born in the early 80s in Central Europe, and still have many relatives there…pretty much all living in denser urban settings (high rises, next to trams, lots of biking and walking). When the iron curtain fell, and my relatives standard-of-living started rising and they began attaining...

And crater the value by putting 3000km's on it? No way Jose! ;) Also, we'd last about 2 hours.

    Cars, Pedestrians, Cyclists and Transit

It's really weird when people get so myopic and combative about cars or bikes or whatever. All those things have their benefits and trade-offs, and what's nice is that you can pick and choose what makes sense for your situation at the time. But having that choice is awesome. Some cities are so...
