Always looks odd to have a tram running through big box power centres and auto malls like that, but I am reminded that the entire area will be completely unrecognizable from today in 10-20 years.
Let’s wait and see the how good the public realm execution will be here. Even if subpar, there are a massive number of improvements coming to the immediate surroundings including a new park right next door.
University park is one of those projects that will push the city closer to the "world class" status it labels itself. The assembly grounds are in dire need of revitalization so I would think the province is interested as well. Hopefully get rid of that surface parking too!
I am so happy with the choice to renovate this complex with respect to the original design. Its great to see a modernist building revitalized without turning the facade into a spandrel-fest.
With RapidTO now going full steam ahead, I do hope the city is looking at a King Street ROW more seriously.
We will soon have bus lanes on Jane where there is arguably a greater need for private car use than almost anywhere along King.

The only scenario in which a downtown Brampton tunnel is even close to being a reasonable idea is if they are planning density greater than the Golden Mile or Square One District. I don’t think we will see that much density in downtown Brampton.

I'll say it again: A King Street dedicated ROW is probably the lowest-hanging fruit of all possible investments in Toronto transit right now. Not pursuing this is insane.
