Just as an update on RH -- the company now looks for centrally located City-oriented flagship stores, always with a high end restaurant as part of the venture and a household panoply of custom designed furniture, fixtures and equipment -- usually about three or four floors -- if realized...

Just for a little inside info Restoration Hardware (now simply known as RH) is looking at another downtown Edmonton location and the possibility of adding housing to their game -- a high-rise venture.

I mean @StoneCutter099 the two bodies are in discussions one with the other re support housing for NorQuest so that the NorQuest effort can better focus on classrooms and support offices (Faculty and Staff) -- a cleaner ask to the current Provincial "government".

I have hunch that Norquest will have a major announcement on their new 15-storey building in the spring of 2025 on land that they already own across 108th Avenue. AND I expect this will be tied to an announcement by Maclab on the project south of 102nd Avenue on the east side of 108th Street.

Also remember the above-ground Switch park which will enhance the surrounds for CN and the RAM as well as make the Retail/Hospitality offerings by Qualico developed in a more desirable setting.

OK you've convinced me... let's learn to be happy with crap, redundant architecture -- at least a half step up from vacant lots and old buildings. No more complaining re Edmonton being a desert for quality architecture. I guess the "good enough for Edmonton" meme has a lot of followers.

A better reference might be the CN Tower which is 110.9 Meters -- so 9+ meters taller than CN.

I am more interested in what Maclab is planning across the street... maybe a twin tower project like their recently completed effort near the U of A campus?

Didn't this project already have a thread (an entry a year or so back). Regardless, happy to see it move forward and they must have a concept in mind if they are upgrading zoning. The site has exceptional views. This will also make the "Hat" people happy and maybe shift their thinking on...

In the top frame the building behind the new one is so much more powerful architecturally speaking and it is 4 decades older than this new effort. Come on guys -- put more moil in!

I suspect they can't do very much -- I know over the years there have been structural problems with sections of the mall roof. I don't think that as it stands now there can be any additional loads applied to the roof.
