No retail really, there is little room for it without creating bottlenecks. This will be a very high traffic area eventually; beneath the future Lakeshore platforms and adjacent to the arena / Bremner.
Facing north from the south concourse there will open passages to the lower and upper levels...
And to be specific about the topology: looking westbound, ML trains enter the Halton sub from the south side of the shared corridor (from Weston sub, in Brampton) then exit the Halton sub on the north side of the shared corridor (to Guelph sub, in Georgetown).
Valid complaint. I think the happy medium for all arguments is to put busses and trains on adjacent screens. At the very least sort the table with trains first, a separator, then busses.
Since roads were bad today, I killed some time taking a detour up to the Woodbine Centre (and the casino 🤣). Surely my last visit so I took some photos for memories.
This gave me a good laugh but honestly, if you’re that concerned and do prefer sitting on public transit, just carry around your own little protector. Maybe stow a roll of parchment paper or a shopping bag in your rucksack?
I came across this article on another thread, maybe it was in the Doug Ford’s Ontario thread.

Lots of interesting history shared here this weekend.
Another fun fact: the new Portlands Energy Centre does not have any energy storage. When all turbines are off, power from the grid is needed to start up. Adding storage to the facility was a project under consideration but some...
Oh ya I just pulled that out of SvN’s TOC drafts, only meaning to highlight the whole ground floor inside the heritage facade isn’t just transit.
Thanks for the sneak peeks!
Agreed, good catch.
There’s little opportunity to squeeze retail in when there will also be a lobby for the TOC.
Spadina north site for example:
Maybe we’ll get a little newsstand in the paid area.
I’m excited about the open expanses of the vertical circulation areas in these stations, less feeling of claustrophobia in heavily trafficked areas.
I rarely travel to TYSSE stations but it’s always a pleasant atmosphere in my opinion. I’m hoping for that same sense of grandeur at the more...
Funny timing on this post as a Malice-at-the-Palace style fight broke out after the Colombia v Uruguay match tonight in Charlotte.

Sad and a good example of how productive the small precast curbs are.
Now to be fair, there was still construction detour signage directing cyclists to share the sidewalk when I passed at 2pm yesterday. So I really wouldn’t be upset by this.
The pipe installation under Esplanade is in the...
The environmental impact assessment would suggest a large portion of the clear cut area is for sanitary sewer relocation, due to conflict with bridge pier placement. The diagram below shows the footprint of the staging and laydown area. Granted, the footprint may have been refined in detailed...
