I noticed. Most of the development on the queensway seems to contemplate a more dense but suburbs living style - a car at least per unit.
I live in the area and love the intensification - but we need to start working on transit ASAP.
Received a notifier for a new application for development on the Queensway. Address is 1230 - North side of Queensway at Culnan. 12 stories. I don't think we have a thread yet.
Application
Architectural plans available.
It's on the site of an existing BMO bank.
Wow - this is quite dense. Combined with the other projects in the area (such as cineplex community at 1025 Queensway) and this area is going to become very urban (more like a liberty village than sleepy suburb).
This does seem super dense for the area. Anyone able to compute the new density including the verge site to the north and compare that to existing neighborhoods? This looks like it would be close to as dense as liberty village.
New application docs on Toronto permitting site. Looks like 3 one story buildings. One of which is a supermarket (Sobeys or one of its brands) and one of which looks to be a BMO.
Minor variance being sought on this to lower the amount of parking. There are some nice images and such in the materials.

Wondering if anyone in the industry or a buyer knows what's up with the delay here. If I recall correctly, these were projected for occupancy in Jan 2025. Given that they haven't yet poured the entire first floor, that's looking pretty unlikely.
I drove by this site this afternoon. Workers appeared to be putting up wooden hoarding or some sort of barrier. Perhaps the demo on this will start soon...
They are. Queensway is partially closed on the south side at canmotor, and canmotor is closed to southbound traffic. They've been replacing water mains and supplies and such
