    Neighbourhood Renewal

I see the traffic department has not learned from the disaster on 105 Ave. This is option 5 being considered on 100 Ave. Note the parking bays that are to the right of the one-way bike lane.

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

The Yellowhead is part of the Transportation Master Plan - conceived in the 80s - which identified an inner ring road and an outer. The outer became the AHD while the inner consisted of the Yellowhead, 75 St/Wayne Gretzky, Whitemud, and 170 St. It was dreamt in a car-centric time with no...

'Unexpected': Edmonton's regional board loses provincial funding, future uncertain

    Edmonton Oilers

I get the impression that the Oilers have lost some speed from last year, so a speedy forward could be a really good addition.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Pretty sure that's referring to Lynx, which had very little service to Edmonton, if at all.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Yep, they even had an unusual setup at one point in the 80s where they had a non-stop to SLC in the morning and then a second flight leaving a few minutes later to SLC with a stop in Calgary. This was before they merged with Northwest and eventually started focusing on MSP from Edmonton.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

I can think of a few of reasons, no one reason would be a deal-breaker, but together, it all fits: - runways. DND is having to spend hundreds of millions to upgrade runways, taxiways, and other infrastructure at CFB Trenton for the 330s. That's not the case at YEG; - Personnel. The AC are both...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

From DND's news release: The new MOB-West location is expected to include a hangar, operations, maintenance, logistics/warehousing, and training and administrative spaces to support RCAF operations for the CC-330 Husky aircraft.

    Misc. Transportation Projects

When they first announced this tax, I thought it was a terrible idea, meant to cripple EV sales in Alberta. And that may still be the case, but the more I think about it, the more I'm ok with this levy. Yes fossil fuels pollute, but so do EVs in their own way. And I don't think driving should be...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

CP Air and Air Canada both had YEG as a stop or starting point for European flights, way back when. CP was YVR-YEG-Europe (AMS, I assume, though I'm not sure) and Air Canada had a LHR-YYC-YEG loop that they flew one way three days a week and four the other way. But those days are long gone...

Jasper Avenue New Vision / Imagine Jasper Avenue

There is a really interesting report going to Executive Committee in 10 days, planning to close vehicular traffic to several properties from Jasper Ave. The goal is to reduce the number of cars crossing the sidewalk on Jasper. What I find really inspiring is that all but one of the property...

    Downtown

I really think the first step needs to be doubling or even tripling frequencies on the 747. While a direct bus downtown would be nice, transferring to a train to get to the city centre is not the end of the world.

    Capital Line LRT

I really like the pedestrian/cycling links in option 1

    Toll Roads / Mileage Tax

I feel the need to point out that St. Albert was founded in 1861. So yes, it is now a bedroom community for Edmonton, but it wasn't always.

Have they fixed that ridiculous bike lane design on 5th Ave yet? I can't tell from the photo.

It also doubles as a prisoner holding cell.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Strathcona, Leduc, Edmonton, and Sturgeon County all have representation on the YEG board so they're all involved in the governance of the airport.
