Well, this has to be one of the worst, most unprofessional, messy designs I've seen. Absolutely god awful.

Is it my imagination, or are the platforms a lot longer in size than the length of the trains, such that you could convert the line to a small(ish) subway in the future? I know the platforms are not full subway length, but the stations do seem a lot larger than what is needed for the current...

Really? I think its a great looking building. Not sure why you think it doesn't work - I find it well balanced and visually high quality. Different tastes I guess.

Such a classy little build. This is one of my absolute (new) favorites in the city right now.

What exactly is "live the legend" on their marketing? Given that this is an as-yet unfinished building, I'm confused about the use of the word "legend", or is there some deeper meaning I missed?

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early to judge this. And I'd certainly not bet against GG pulling it off once everything is done. My money says this will be a decent building once complete.

I keep wondering when the "timber" portion of this building will come into play. That said, know nothing about timber construction ... but I find it interesting that we are now onto the 2nd floor and so far all i see is concrete. Unless there was a change and they dumped the timber idea that...

I'd imagine that this will get redone and is temporary.

Not sure I agree. First, you aren't simply replacing a like-sized building with another like-sized building for aesthetic purposes only. You are increasing density in an area that can support it. At the very least, the argument for intensification likely counters the argument for not moving...

Love this tower. And parking isn't an issue - in fact - less parking is good unless people don't understand how that cycle works.

Ooooooooo that tower glass is really nice. Looking forward to seeing this progress =)

Not sure I agree with you. The crown is different now yes, but not destroyed.

    Toronto Toronto | King Blue by Greenland | 155.75m | 48s | Greenland | Arcadis

Why exactly is this project considered "cheaping out" exactly? Looks pretty solid to me top to bottom, podium especially.

    Toronto Toronto | Dundas Square Gardens | 156.05m | 50s | Gupta | IBI Group

This thing is a mess. On top of that, it completely hangs over the street in an ominous and repelling way. Really disappointed in this.

    Toronto Toronto | Riverside Square | 64.6m | 20s | Streetcar | RAW Design

This project feels and looks really awkward. I get what they were trying to do with the off-angles etc, but it really doesn't feel like it works imo.

    Yonge-Dundas Square/Sankofa Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

Boy I wish I had my camera handy. I was flying in on Porter at dusk, and Dundas Square glows like it's nuclear in the evening and from distance. Looked amazing, although I sure wouldn't want a condo close to it.

    Toronto Toronto | Residences at The Hunt Club | 31.39m | 9s | Infinity | Onespace

Boy, that is one ... awkward, looking building. I'm glad they are using brick in these small buildings, but the material mix and colors on this feel very odd.

Toronto Toronto | Two Hundred The Beach | 24.08m | 6s | The Riedel Group | Richard Ziegler

Aye. I live in the area and this is an awful building. Better than what was there before, but really sub par for a new building.
  19. L

    Toronto CAMH Queen Street | 60.3m | 7s | CAMH | Diamond Schmitt + KPMB + TreanorHL + HOK

That building looks pretty nice to me, unless you mean the color or context to the rest of the area? In terms of hospital buildings, not sure I see the problem ...

I agree Dustin. It's definitely nowhere near as bad as some people like to make out. Based on the panic and hysteria in some posts, you'd think this was being reclad in mismatched plywood. I think some posters feel the need to pile on once a project has proven to be out of favor.
