The Hudson's Bay Co. has purchased Saks Fifth Avenue. We did a lengthy analysis of potential Saks locations in Canada: http://www.retail-insider.com/2013/07/saks-fifth-avenue-likely-to-open-in.html
We did an analysis on where we think Saks could go within existing Hudson's Bay real estate: http://www.retail-insider.com/2013/07/saks-fifth-avenue-likely-to-open-in.html
Amarynth is only about 1,450 sq ft. Unless adjoining retail space is secured, it would likely be too small for Suitsupply. We've been told Suitsupply wants over 5,000 square feet. 150 Bloor W. floorplan (including Amarynth space)...
We unfortunately provided misinformation about a Cumberland Street address for Suitsupply. After we posted an article today mentioning a Cumberland Street address, Suitsupply called its Toronto-based broker and she contacted us. As a result, we've posted a retraction of our original article...
In light of the conversation above, ACT7 and Retail Insider are revealing the location of the Bloor Street J. Crew store. It will be at 110 Bloor Street West (replacing the first Guerlain store), next to the new Brooks Brothers (replacing Plaza Escada)...
It was leased to a clothing retailer. The landlord wishes to keep the tenant's identity a secret for now, and the tenant will be issuing a press release in the near future.
Today the Queen Street Hudson's Bay store opened one of the world's largest shoe floors. It's 50,000 square feet and includes a luxury section called 'The Room Shoes'. It could also, possibly, open Jimmy Choo and other concessions...
We're not in the PR business and we're not governed by confidentiality clauses (in this case, anyway - this author/lawyer also does some confidential deals involving retail). And sorry khristopher, we were asked to keep the new Square One tenant information confidential and we're respecting that...

Holt Renfrew is negotiating with Oxford Properties to potentially open a Holts store at Square One. This would replace the Sherway Gardens Holt Renfrew store: http://www.retail-insider.com/2013/03/could-holt-renfrew-open-in-mississaugas.html
Don't forget that Toronto Life got that info from Retail Insider and credited us with their initial articles. You may expect announcements for Dior and Ferragamo at some point in the near future... and we already know Ferragamo is opening at Yorkdale (we'll post floorplans when Oxford forwards...
Saks' Chicago men's store will be closing while men's moves to levels 6 & 7 of the main store, and Neiman's 188,000 square foot Michigan Ave store is being renovated top-to-bottom (just to update - we spend a lot of time in Chicago). It's our opinion that Toronto is very underserved with...
Thank you so much, ACT7!
We'll be reporting on Mulberry in Yorkdale based on this post. We had no idea about this development. An UrbanToronto reader directed us to this information (if you check our Facebook Wall you'll notice this and other tips readers provide us), and we've referenced this...
