In light of the conversation above, ACT7 and Retail Insider are revealing the location of the Bloor Street J. Crew store. It will be at 110 Bloor Street West (replacing the first Guerlain store), next to the new Brooks Brothers (replacing Plaza Escada)...

It was leased to a clothing retailer. The landlord wishes to keep the tenant's identity a secret for now, and the tenant will be issuing a press release in the near future.

Today the Queen Street Hudson's Bay store opened one of the world's largest shoe floors. It's 50,000 square feet and includes a luxury section called 'The Room Shoes'. It could also, possibly, open Jimmy Choo and other concessions...

We were just told that a new facade was going onto the old MAC space (89 Bloor W.) and that it's still for lease.

We're not in the PR business and we're not governed by confidentiality clauses (in this case, anyway - this author/lawyer also does some confidential deals involving retail). And sorry khristopher, we were asked to keep the new Square One tenant information confidential and we're respecting that...

Can't yet, sorry... It might make the tenant an easy guess. We sometimes get info from landlords on the condition that we release it when allowed. This unfortunately is one of those situations.

Nordstrom will be going at the opposite end of the mall from Sears via another mall expansion. Sears will stay where it is for now, though both department stores will be almost exactly the same size (190,000 sq ft Sears and 188,000 sq ft Nordstrom).
