    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

Looks like wording is different between what was spoken and what's in print. "...and we have eliminated double fares when taking GO Transit and local transit throughout much of the Greater Golden Horseshoe, and we are expanding this initiative including Toronto."...

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

From the budget, does that mean free transfer between GO and TTC is here?

    Ontario Flag needs replacing

They are called the "beehive state"; has to do with the LDS Church's scripture.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Regarding the trains, I think it's a uniquely Japan thing to have advertisement on the sides AND hanging from the ceiling in the aisle. I don't see that on other metro systems.

Toronto Toronto | Concord Park Place: Ethennonnhawahstihnen' Community Centre | 18.9m | 4s | City of Toronto | MJMA

The context may be a little different. Mississauga and Saskatchewan are anglicised spellings of the indigeous language names. Ethennonnhawahstihnen' is in Wendat language (so even the ' at the end should not be omitted) , which uses the latin alphabet for writing.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

A Hamilton-K/W via Guelph (highway 6 + 7) bus route would be nice, but that's probably along the line of a fantasy.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I don't think 80 - 90 km/h average speed is feasible with the amount of stops we have on the GO lines. I'll go back to my JR line example: it takes 57min to travel 53km, making 13 stops (an express run). Average speed would be 56km/h. They are using EMUs. Chuo line timetable - Chuo S-Rapid You...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Electrification will yield improvement to average speed. Using Tokyo's Chuo line as an example, their trains operates at 100 - 130km/h - slower than the Lakeshore lines' speed limit outside of the Union station zone.

Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

Looks like a proper implementation of scramble crossing, where there is complete separation of pedestrain and vehicular phases - unlike the one we have at Yonge and Dundas (although turns are prohibited).

Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

^ How is it going to work without traffic signals?

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The crosstown trains were first rendered with a green livery. Anything can change. What's not subtle? After the 2003 Ontario provincial election, the Ontario website's (gov.on.ca) colour theme was changed from blue to red in short time; with no layout changes.

    Southwest Agincourt Transportation Connections

Save those dead space until they can decide what sort of rapid transit they are putting on Sheppard; could be useful later on.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

If it's the government doing it and for public use, I am sure there is a way to acquire it.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Maybe that's why the 401 is full of automobiles doing intra-city trips. I can understand the Stouffville line example, but taking a trip up to 407 to get across the city (or to Brampton) is sort of a backtracking route - unless your trip begins in NW North York or north Etobicoke.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Make Richmond Hill line a branch of the Ontario line. Watch Oriole and Old Cummer's usage skyrockets. (Exaggerated, but they will be well used; on conditions the stations being moved north to Sheppard, and south to Finch respectively)

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Do the readers on those systems allow payment by credit card? I rememeber there were a lot of restrictions with those systems as well - namely very limited ways to top up with credit card, it was all cash.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I don't see how it's going to be more successful by eliminating the three intermediate stations. It may have saved on some operating cost, likely not by much. TTC would have to run more frequent local bus to cover the Don Mills to Yonge distance. Less desification occur along Sheppard East...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

The north end of the McCowan/Sheppard station is within reasonable walking distance (2-3 min) to the CP tracks. They can build a footbridge next to the creek.
  19. 1

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Scarborough Centre will already get a connection to Stouffville line at Kennedy station. It's overkill to get a one seat ride to two separate GO stations that are on the same line.
