That is a great question. There's enough space there that some light could definitely still get into the adjacent building. Odd.

Seems like the last bit of dirt being hauled out. Busy site today, some additional formwork in the base too:

Makes sense. I'm always surprised when construction doesn't use the cranes to lift regularly arriving heavy items like windows and exterior cladding instead using ground cranes and elevators. It seems it would be more efficient to use the tower crane.

Is that cladding I see? Surprised the cranes are still up!

It's because they can't put windows there without considerable issues. Not only is it nearly up against the property line, so any future development would nearly block the entire windows, but there are also weird code requirements for windows so close to property lines. That's why the Core Urban...

I don't know why I didn't post the pics I had of this site from forever ago, so now I won't bother, but it's unfortunate it doesn't have direct access to the park behind it.

The brick work facing King St has been exposed. Tons of drywall being delivered and cutoffs taken away, didn't take photos of drywall delivery. Comments on the brickwork: Glad to see a generally high quality installation, lacking the typical horizontal expansion gaps, meaning they spent extra...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I would be a big fan of this. I've never actually used VIA, but as service has changed, and my interest in driving to Montreal has waned, I've started debating it more and stopping at West Harbour could likely push us over the edge to doing it.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

According to this article, West Harbour actually has more riders: https://www.thespec.com/news/hamilton-region/go-transits-hamilton-ridership-statistics-still-shifting-post-pandemic/article_7671c245-d555-57ac-bb94-31f57bae3ebb.html "Currently, an average of 886 people a day board and disembark...

Seems they basically just have half the last floor to do now, and the last bit which is the mechanic penthouse will put it above then, so it's likely around 103-105 metres as of right now. So like a couple weeks before being second tallest.

I believe until the Television City is topped out it will be. It certainly looks like the second tallest.

    Hamilton Toronto | 77 James Street North | 93.1m | 30s | IN8 Developments | AAA

Yea, trying to do this development in a single stage would be insane. That being said, the Well was kind of done that way, but in Hamilton they would have to sell units on a per phase basis to get financing lined up. The fact that Emblem was able to get financing set up is kind of incredibly...
