I'm hoping for downtown to largely continue to skip big chains and franchises. Kinton is probably one of the larger franchises to come to downtown in a while, majority of the downtown spots are local, semi-local, or boutique restaurant groups. I wouldn't want Hamilton to lose local spot to...

I'd really like to see Hamilton get a few POPs. We don't have a single urban park except for Gore Park and maybeeee in front of the federal building. Beyond that I can't think of a place where the public can sit, catch some shade or just chill downtown without being in Gore Park, in a private...

Forms for 15th floor walls going in, this will be the last floor before the tower narrows significantly. At which point I expect this to fly along with a smaller floor plate and identical layout for each. It's already going quite quickly:

Looks like they're going full-tilt inside and the exterior, the roof hasn't had forms placed yet:

Base is being filled with concrete. I suspect those tubes are piles for anchoring into bedrock. I notice they only are under where both of the towers are going, so likely there as the foundation to hold the weight of the two towers.

They were definitely added, for what I'm unsure tbh

Ya, like who would they be suing? Also, it's crazy to me that the prior builder was building something that was so badly out of plumb so as to not be able to continue.

It's definitely crazy to see. Where myself and a few others have been getting pictures is an incredible view into what is an insanely deep hole. Just a wobbly fence between too!

A little bit rude to open across from a local ramen spot, but honestly we've got a bit of a ramen drought so they'll likely both be busy.

There's a few in Hamilton. I can take a picture and post it next time I walk by the building.

They were busy working, didn't want to interrupt, plus I had to get back to my own work. This is about a 10 minute walk from my office and I only have so much time to take a break and eat lunch!

Hamilton or the surrounding area will never get a major league sports team. North America doesn't function the way the rest of the world does in this respect. Hamilton/Burlington is too close to Toronto and Buffalo. Great video about this problem:

This was dug up before James St exploded.

Some wall forms in place for the fourth floor on the northwest corner building (the third tower) and wall forms being installed for the 8th floor on the southeast corner (did not get photos of this):

Took some additional photos today without the workers in the way, still no clue 🤷‍♂️
