I don’t mind the ORCA project concept, if private business builds all or part of the park then we get green space for less tax$. I know that the total parkland they propose is smaller but there are more railway lands east and west of this. Why can’t this proposal be extended in both directions...

I saw a tweet on urbantoronto the other day in the sidebar about a redevelopment proposal at the northeast corner of Yonge and Carlton. I havent heard anything since and the google had nithing. Has anyone heard any whispers about a proposal here?

With Queens Quay Terminal virtually half empty and the commercial space at Harbour plaza (formerly supposed to be a Target location) not yet leased (as far as I know) I doubt they would put up a mall in place of the garage. But I would like to see it gone. It's an eyesore. And unlike 10 years...

I hope that there will be something coming soon. Most of the businesses on that block are already empty even though I'm sure it will be another year at least before they can even start demo.

They have also started pouring concrete for the upper floors they are adding atop the existing building.

They are doing interior demolition already and a big hole has been punched in the rear wall. I'll be glad to see this eyesore gone forever.

You will be happy to know that Bar Volo has signed a lease for a new space in the neighbourhood with a great patio on Church Street at Dundonald in the space that was formally House/Maison. I believe they are opening sometime in early 2017. Story here...

Was that BLM that set off the smokebombs? That was a stupid stunt. I was 30 feet north of their stalled float and most of us in the crowd couldn't see the smokebombs but we did hear them and then saw smoke rising. This could have ended very badly in a crowd stampede. Mymind and others went there...

I think it's new. The sign says the meeting is for July 13, 2016. It is handwritten but you would think whoever put it up would know how many storeys the building is.

Has the height been changed on this building? There is a notice of a meeting on July 13 to discuss changes to the parking and it said this was a 48 storey building. It's posted on the hoarding along Sherbourne.

Does anyone know if this revitalization will extend out to Yonge between Aura and College Park? It's quite an eyesore and with thousands of people walking past it daily it would have been nice to have an animated spot with trees, benches and/or food carts and seating.

The owner has said they will be opening another downtown location within 2 weeks.

Apparently he said his bid of $330 million was $30 million not enough. UNCONDITIONAL offer of $360 million was accepted for the parcel. Somebody has deep pockets.
