Beaver Hills House Park & Michael Phair Park Renewal

The sign with Cree syllabics is also nice. Notice the birds on the polls are from the mural on the retaining wall that was taken down. Left to be done next year: - Washrooms - Climbing wall - lighting, including string lighting above Michael Phair Park - public art - minor electrical for stage

Climate Change effects on urban life

I don't know, but speculating that historically Edmonton has had enough rain and moisture it wasn't needed. It wasn't as hot. Also irrigating a central park where it can be 2-5C hotter wasn't a priority.

Winterval is this Saturday, 3-8pm on 104 Street. An opportunity to see some of the newly renovated Michael Phair Park. https://www.edmontondowntown.com/winterval/

Please report to 311. Newly planted street trees need metal guards like other cities. Need to push the city to adopt this standard like other cities.

Beaver Hills House Park & Michael Phair Park Renewal

Fences are down, at least on Michael Phair Park side. They wanted it partially open in time for Downtown Winterval programming this Saturday.

    7906 109 Street | 6s | Pagnotta

Nothing inspiring design wise but we really need to focus on getting 109 Street filled in. This should be the priority of Councillor Janz.

    O-day’min Park (formerly Warehouse Park)

I have an update about security. There are two attendants as mentioned. One attendant will routinely walk around the park to observe any issues. They won't intervene but they can report to the City or EPS as needed. PCL is also proactively watching things in the park, as they have a vested...

    O-day’min Park (formerly Warehouse Park)

There isn't security per se in the park that we know of. There is an attendant for the washrooms. Parks Operations may also have a presence in the future. If there's actual drug use or people in the playground that shouldn't be there, best to call the police. Trying to confirm what kind of...

    O-day’min Park (formerly Warehouse Park)

Very busy Sunday for the last day of grand opening programming. Had to be several hundred people in the park. Playground continues to be a hit with kids, as are the swings.

I believe the alleys are part of the project as well, which includes 106 and 107 Street streetscaping from Jasper to 102 Avenue. https://www.edmonton.ca/sites/default/files/public-files/Warehouse-Park-Preliminary-Design-Report.pdf?cb=1763402039

3 year project but if construction only happens in summer months and road is mostly open during winter I'm fine with that.

Downtown Construction Updates Construction on Beaver Hills House Park and Michael Phair Park Renewal is progressing and the parks are expected to be open by the end of 2025. Construction on Mary Burlie Park began this summer and will continue in 2026. The park is anticipated to be...

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Yes, they can expand north of 102 Avenue if needed, but so far the one block has been enough. But totally depends on how many applications they get for next year. I would not be in favour of moving it off 104 Street. Since the EDBA is organzing it, they have a mandate to support their member...

    General Food & Dining Thread

It was designed way too wide and uninviting, not to mention widening the road also got rid of a bunch of businesses that contributed to the area. Much of the development is social housing that won't contribute to their customer base. I don't see much changing anytime soon. Transit Hotel is a...
