The LOCATION is fine but the building is NOT GOOD. They cannot expand the size of the library (or not easily as it would mean evicting other TCHC commercial tenants) and the building seems to have water leak problems on an annual schedule. Ideally, when Time and Space was designed they would...
The current SLM branch is in a 1980s era TPH building and is very second rate. It is small for a branch, has a poor street presence and is below apartments that seem to have many problems with water leaks. I do not disagree with you that it is possible to combine libraries and residential but...
Councillors have the ability to postpone things and the renowned Etobicoke objections to bike lanes would probably mean there is less demand for Bike Share too. It would also not surprise me if the local councillors try to discourage Bike Share expansion in their Wards in case it results in...
It is NOT a 'catch basin' though it certainly has not got much water flow and once flotsam gets there it cannot really get out and god knows what is lying on the bottom of it . Another problem is that parts of the concrete surround are very deteriorated with exposed rebar etc. Parks (who are...
If you look at the photo above (with the sand piled on the Slip) you can see the proposed route of the QQE extension - it will be running BETWEEN the Respite Shelter Tent and the Silos.
They did but did it badly. A child of 10 could see that the Don River bank was easily washed away (it did so in every big rain storm!) so why they thought it could support the supports for a staircase without very deep piling is a 'mystery'. Or simply incompetence!!
This photo from December 2025 Board Book shows better what is going on at the slip. The piles of 'sand' are surcharging to expel water below ground for the new QQE extension.
This in Board Book for WT Board tomorrow - fine words but no obvious action!
Waterfront East Transit
Waterfront East Transit is a planned extension of the streetcar network, connecting Union Station to Ookwemin Minising via Cherry Street and Commissioners Street, and extending the existing 504A...
The contractor has now put down the concrete base for the new street - note that they did not do this for the section that will be the wider part of Lower Sherbourne.
I have no problem with putting a larger District Library at Queen & Parliament but if the current St Lawrence branch is closed and not relocated, this means there are ZERO TPL branches south of Queen Street between Yonge and Spadina. The current St Lawrence branch is not in a good location (or...
Hudson’s Bay may be gone. But its Christmas windows are back — with a twist

I think the plan is still 'active' - though some parts are not likely to happen for decades - e.g. bringing Church Street under he rail berm. (Which i personally doubt any of us will be alive to see!) There is much more chance of the Loblaws site being redeveloped and when that happens I bet the...
