Yes, but you can’t build parks OR build over/deck over anything in T.O., because some people lose their minds here.

    Toronto Toronto | CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

And⁉️ …it needs some surrounding green space. I said what I said.

    Toronto Toronto | CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

That area is just all towers clustered together, skyscraper clusters. It’s just dying for some surrounding green, natural urban spaces nearby.

    Toronto 49 Ontario Street | 160.05m | 50s | Dream + CentreCourt | B+H

Wow!! Dream Unlimited. Alliance Arch. Arcadis. Cheers to whomever pushed for a more sleek, less clunky design & vibrant red brick tone. Smarter w good color in that neighborhood. Lock it in.

    Toronto Toronto | 10 Lower Spadina | 163.26m | 49s | Arkfield | BDP Quadrangle

Maybe in its day, but King’s Landing is no “architectural jewel” presently. Some type of makeover is needed on that one.

    Toronto Toronto | 10 Lower Spadina | 163.26m | 49s | Arkfield | BDP Quadrangle

Yes, reclad that 1980’s concrete building, but how do you do that with all those jutting out, bubble-like windows/balcony. That’s the real eyesore. Needs to be revitalized, polished up, w some redesign, if that ever happens. The address is 460-480 Queens Quay btw. Definitely past architectural...

    Toronto Toronto | 10 Lower Spadina | 163.26m | 49s | Arkfield | BDP Quadrangle

10 Lower Spadina? Fine. Now please do the site next door, 260, 270, 280 Queens Quay, all one unsightly bizarre behemoth by the waterfront. Not only the 2nd incredibly drab structure on that street, (the 1st being “the 3 ugly sisters” appropriately nicknamed) but maybe the worst in T.O. Those...

    Toronto Toronto | The Whitfield | 130m | 39s | Menkes | Giannone Petricone

Look at that gorgeous building w that vibrant wonderful colour. And only 39 stories⁉️That’s the biggest disappointment. Makes such a difference in any city’s skyline.

They better not tease w that rendering & not have some colour. Green, amber, red …something.

    Toronto Toronto | Ookwemin Minising | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Omg, there’s lots of COLOUR in Ookwemin Minising’s waterfront community. WHO is responsible for that? 👏

    Toronto Toronto | CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

Yes, but Toronto’s not allowed to build Rail Decks. Haven’t you heard. An unthinkable innovation in 2025. Lol. Better yet, an attractive park & public space decking over that area & maybe a few more areas of our lovely concrete, grey, steel, rail core⁉️

    Toronto Toronto | Concord Sky | 300.2m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

I kinda love this building. It’s growing on me more & more. But the urban realm, design & street aesthetics is just blah & pitiful there. Not exaggerating. While the waterfront is getting prime attention, downtown/visitor areas are being ignored & neglected. That’s where Toronto city planners &...

    Toronto Union Park | 303.33m | 71s | Oxford Properties | Hariri Pontarini

Yeah, but everyone needs a classic know-it-all “expert” cynic around. Or life, developers & architecture wouldn’t be as amusing.

    Toronto Union Park | 303.33m | 71s | Oxford Properties | Hariri Pontarini

The get off my lawn guy is triggered. When someone lives here as opposed to occasionally visiting. We are allowed to whine & grumble w middling & ordinary.
  15. Skyhighzz

    Toronto Union Park | 303.33m | 71s | Oxford Properties | Hariri Pontarini

These half-priced Toronto developers/architects duos are just woeful & cheerless. With not an ounce of architectural swagger pride. Probably most prime spot downtown and they downgrade & slash it to bland & joyless in every way. Buildings. Park space. Public space. That one building with some...

Next Up… replacing that worn relic of a ballpark, formerly known as the SkyDome. It’s time Toronto. Shabby neglected exterior. Join the rest of American ballparks in building new. Renos or not. Last stadium standing.

    Toronto Toronto | 241 Yonge Street | 221.19m | 67s | Angel | Hariri Pontarini

With this new promising attractive building, hoping this stretch of Yonge, which is so dreary, empty & treeless, can upscale its streetscapes into something much more vibrant & enterprising.. A lot of new structures being built along there but the drab dull street vibe (nothing to see or do) is...

    Toronto Toronto | The Whitfield | 130m | 39s | Menkes | Giannone Petricone

Nice. The only misstep or missed ops, is this vivid red brick, red aluminum tower isn’t 40 storeys taller to join the only other red tall for all to see-in the overwhelming sea of grey-blue.

    Toronto Toronto | St Lawrence Centre Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | CreateTO | Hariri Pontarini

But can Toronto have some pizzazz in their cultural & performing arts buildings.. Front St could be a great int’l visitor street if they had some standout architectural design, smart modern street aesthetics. Meridian Hall is bland also, way too forgettable. The last few years the waterfront has...

I hope so cuz that structure’s concrete exterior looks shabby & worn.
