Fencing around the paving stones on the northeast side of the intersection was finally taken away today, opening up the full width of the sidewalk. A look at the basement floor under the Bazis development on the northeast corner. Looks like seating and space for retail/additional food court...

Yes, the reason for this is explained in Steve Munro's post here from 2022: https://stevemunro.ca/2022/06/04/eglinton-east-lrt-update-june-2022/ Also, I am old enough to remember when this thread was about the Eglinton Crosstown. Two pages on bike locks, my god. Make a different thread

Here's another video showing the LRV versus traffic, which is a better comparison than speed alone.

He said average speed. You are talking about maximum speed.

Went by Eglinton East today. LRVs are probably not running at full operating frequency, but there are definitely a lot of them testing at once. West-bound some LRV displays say "Eglinton // to Mount Dennis" and not just LRV testing/training. There has been a lot of (fair) criticism in this...

On Saturday, May 11 there will be an increase in the number of light rail vehicles (LRVs) travelling along the ECLRT alignment as part of testing work for the project. This work will ensure that all software and control systems are tested and work properly. A good day for LRV-spotting...

Lots of interesting details in the Eglinton Today plan, which goes before the Infrastructure and Environment Committee May 2 https://secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda-item.do?item=2024.IE13.2 21 bus stop locations to be eliminated in preparation for the opening of ECLRT...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

https://secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda-item.do?item=2024.IE13.2 Some notable details: "If the continuous cycle tracks are not approved for installation, Transportation Services would recommend that the short segments of disconnected cycle tracks already built in front of the underground...

An update on the EglintonTOday complete street plans: original plan to present before city council's Infrastructure & Environment Committee delayed from next week to May 2, 2024. Installation is still projected for "summer 2024"...

Crosslinx has a lot of faults but come on... is it reasonable to criticize them for not having planted trees in mid-February? The landscaping is coming: "Ongoing through until approximately late-March 2024, crews at Eglinton Station will be performing landscaping restoration works on Yonge...

That's right. I was mistaken. Here's another view of the plans - although the current entrance appears to be outdoors in the future plan, or at least not part of the 2220 Yonge building. Maybe they're just tearing the north-side atrium down?

This map shows how the two entrances connect underground. While there are two entrances for now, the current entrance will probably be demolished as part of the Canada Square redevelopment in the next few years. You can see that the building that houses the current south-west entrance will be...
