    They haven’t demolished any buildings but it’s amazing how empty the site now feels with all the trees chopped down.

    Having passed by this in person yesterday, the side fronting Carling seems fine, but the side looking out over the Shell station with three kinds of brick is awful. The random charcoal section looks especially out of place. Hopefully it's eventually covered up by something next door.

    It's a dead block walking along Elgin right now so that would be great to have a cafe or restaurant there instead. The Little Victories one block over is the busiest coffee shop downtown

    Two new Westboro spots are open now. The Bower Coffee, across from where the Bridgehead recently closed at Richmond and Golden. And Koichi Ramen, where the Newboro bar used to be.

    The Bank of Canada cut the interest rate today, with more cuts almost certain to come this year. That could be the single biggest factor in getting projects going again.

    They’ve started laying bricks on the back of the podium. And have put in about two rows of windows and fins on the tower portion.
