Tearing down the beige building revealed a ghost sign on the little brick building. Looks like it says Olympia Candy, or something like that?

They haven’t demolished any buildings but it’s amazing how empty the site now feels with all the trees chopped down.

Having passed by this in person yesterday, the side fronting Carling seems fine, but the side looking out over the Shell station with three kinds of brick is awful. The random charcoal section looks especially out of place. Hopefully it's eventually covered up by something next door.

It's a dead block walking along Elgin right now so that would be great to have a cafe or restaurant there instead. The Little Victories one block over is the busiest coffee shop downtown

Two new Westboro spots are open now. The Bower Coffee, across from where the Bridgehead recently closed at Richmond and Golden. And Koichi Ramen, where the Newboro bar used to be.

That looks great. This also bodes well for the podium on their Scott Street tower. They've done about one section of that so far

It's the start of a rate-cutting cycle, and will definitely have an effect on bond markets and development/construction companies being willing to take on debt. I recall an interview earlier this year with Colonnade BridgePort CEO saying he was waiting to see movement on interest rates before...

The Bank of Canada cut the interest rate today, with more cuts almost certain to come this year. That could be the single biggest factor in getting projects going again.

They’ve started laying bricks on the back of the podium. And have put in about two rows of windows and fins on the tower portion.

There is also scaffolding up now at their podium on the Scott Street building, just up the road. Maybe doing the bricks on both buildings simultaneously

Glad to see this one is progressing after it went quiet for a while. That vacant building is an eyesore. And I like the design of this.
