    Downtown

DRC posted the PDF of that document on their website if anyone wants to read the full thing: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/m0vqr522imi0vk6b9kc6x/Policy-Briefing-Document.pdf?rlkey=63b1r9rjdk1xy2qzojwbftmn7&st=549sph4l&dl=0

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

That's good, maybe that is a recent development and has improved the situation. A lot of those comments I posted were 3-4 years old.

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

The bike parkade is definitely a better concept, but it has to be implemented with active security. Our only example of this is the bike room at Century Park station, which I think is great and use on occasion, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not monitored (I'm not sure it even has...

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

It's true they are not great for high-volume areas, but I think they are more secure than the parkades. There's lots of people complaining on reddit about the Skytrain bike parkades/storage rooms, bikes are being stolen from them because it is very easy to gain access to the room and once...

It will be one block north I believe, on this lot:

This is great news for the downtown gym market! Anytime's membership fees are lower than any of the other gyms in the area (even YMCA), and they are 24/7.

I don't live nearby but count me in for any petition signing, protesting, etc!

I imagine stainless steel is worth a lot at the scrap yard, maybe even more than copper..

There is a thread, here: https://edmonton.skyrisecities.com/forum/threads/edmonton-49-west-25m-6s.31958/

    Capital Line LRT

I should have said, I do think extending the LRT is the way to go, but I worry that if travel times are not faster it might face lots of opposition. It would be interesting to see some data re: actual travel time, as well as extra cost to build the airport leg to a higher speed rating.

    Capital Line LRT

What is the top speed of the LRT, 80km/h? The 747 bus is theoretically moving at 110km/h, so with the slower speed through the city and also the stop at the outlet mall, it might work out to the same travel time.

    Miscellaneous

I think it is an extension of the strip mall on the site directly north. If you look at past dates on Street view you can see it was built in 2 phases, this will be phase 3 (hence the name City Plaza III in the photo).

    General Architecture & Design Discussion

That article actually calls out Edmonton for making progress on this issue following Mandel's "no more crap" thing.

    Edmonton | Massey Ferguson Building Redevelopment | ?m | 6s | Rise Real Estate | WZMH

The description says the work is related to site remediation, so maybe there's a second DP for the actual construction that is still pending approval by EDC?

    Transportation Safety and Vision Zero

Agreed, I think they are actually more dangerous because it gives peds/bikes a false sense of security, they might not check for traffic before crossing.

    LRT Safety

In the post I replied to it says "Number of Nalaxone deployments by Commissionaires". I would also be surprised they are allowed to do that given their response to all other incidents is to "observe and report" only. Maybe I misunderstanding what that chart means?

    LRT Safety

Commissionaires are giving out Narcan? That pretty much makes all the stations supervised consumption sites, no wonder there are constant issues with people doing drugs in the hallways

    O-day’min Park (formerly Warehouse Park)

Personally I'd prefer a low-rise on these sites, to allow more sunlight into the park. Would love to see CRUs with patios facing the park though, with vehicle entrances off 106 and 107st so the alleyway can be closed to traffic.
