GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I wonder if this is a 'staging' for a future restoration of service to London. I suspect it could not be performed with current infra if MX/QP wants a morning service both ways to and from Union.

    TTC: Streetcar Network

The streetcars don't have a constant boarding height? I was under the assumption that they were identical to the line 5 and 6 in boarding height. I did not know this!

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I may be out of the loop here. Why are they building a bridge around the split off between Kitchener and Barrie and for what purpose? Are they trying to flyover the Barrie line from the east side to the west? The columns feel too weak to be a mainline rail bridge (though I am not a structural...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

It has always baffled me why streetcar platforms on dedicated ROWs and platforms were not level with the streetcar entrance. Should have been done a long time ago. Unsure what they will be 'looking' at. Staff will report back in 18 months about how they must do a pilot project at three platforms...

Toronto Ontario Line 3 | Metrolinx

Unless Google Maps is off, this probably makes it worse not better... Exhibition would be closer to King West than King West?

Toronto Ontario Line 3 | Metrolinx

I'm mostly fine with these (Perhaps Distillery District should just be Distillery?) but I'm fascinated by Metrolinx's decision to choose King West. I thought one of their massive no-nos for naming was X N/S/E/W. (Granted, EH also falls under this)

annoyingly they did not post where, but cross-ref with the background i reckon the first shot is right on just west of danforth GO, on woodbine ave looking west for anyone else wondering. I wonder what made them decide to put in a switch here.

Toronto Ontario Line 3 | Metrolinx

The unfortunate reality of all of this discussion is that it's all hidden behind a veil of obscurity that means that you can share your opinion, he can share his opinion... but we actually can't definitively show anyone right or wrong. Was this the most cost-optimal option? By how much? What...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

all i can find is under service updates for LSE: Minor Schedule Adjustments April 13 On Monday, April 13, some trains will need to run at slower speeds due to construction completed over the weekend. Some trains between Pickering and Durham College Oshawa GO will arrive and depart a few minutes...

    Hamilton Toronto | Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I imported the image and aligned it, i find the south radius is 44 metres and the north radius is 31 metres. For reference, the Humber turn on 6FW is 40m. I would not hold my breath for >15kmh speeds on these turns. Regardless, I am going to mostly going to posit that this is suboptimal, but...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I'm sorry, but it appears we have a misunderstanding? I was commenting on whether or not higher frequencies were possible without building a new station, i do not know what that had to do with everything you wrote. I am supportive of the new station, I was stating that higher frequencies is...

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

the video by city of toronot shows it will be cut and cover and done in several stages, rather than a cover and cut I do not know for sure if the teamways will be temporarily put out of service.

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

One billion for the loop is already excessive to me, but even ignoring that... Assuming the 20% increase in cost was uniform, the on-street segment excluding the underground segment and union would be 3.2km for 1560 mil, or 500 mil/km. This on street section alone is slightly less expensive than...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

respectfully disagree, i don't see how the current terminal cannot handle even 30 minute service Is there some problem with the current terminal I don't see, other than it's kinda old and kinda a walk from the ion?

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

i dont want to be some joykill as I want this project to succeed but I really am concerned about this. The Star reports that the cost estimates for the line are now 3 billion dollars, or 789mn/km. Given this is supposed to be a city project, not MX- this does not even include O&M or probably...

They do have larger stop spacing but I would have to disagree on "less intersections". I dont have any hard numbers but just looking at it aerially i find that those trams handle a lot of intersections. Just some samples. At no point would I describe any section of the Munich tram system as...

I am aware who Reece is, and I don't really see how this matters, unless the argument is, well he thought Eglinton was going to be overcapacity so his opinion is actually less than meaningless. Please refer to my previous post. I am not rewriting that I am unsure where you got this assumption...
