I think you’re onto something and would like to see that additional seating added on the McGee side as well as within an overhaul of Jimmie Simpson that is sorely needed now that the eastern walls are pretty much done. I asked the city and metrolinx for an update on the plan to beautify McGee...

I suppose gas explosions don’t happen 9-5? A silly zoning limitation when there’s 1000s of under- housed people in an city that desperately needs affordable housing near transit

Holy smokes the trains are running along the east side (over the new bridges) already. Thai winter and spring is gonna be a tough one for De Grassi Street and Wardell St residents but the good news is the eastern side progressed quite well - just over a year from start to operational (still...

Anybody know why the wall curves up and is that much higher in the bend? I wonder if it’s a crash protection element? Also I do think there is some planned lighting and other design elements that should help to improve the interest level here but unsure if that only is taking place at Queen and...

Looking decent but too bad this isn’t a live work scenario with affordable housing above or something like that..

Wowza…. The first set of windows are going in today. It’s gonna look sooo good!

Based on the building renderings I’m expecting black stucco or possibly black aluminum cladding to cover up the “concrete/cinderblock” portions on the side and top. That said , some windows started being dropped off today!!! Can’t wait to see them in. So nice to see such a landmark coming alive...

I don’t believe that there is an Eastern Ave specific discussion board but am thinking the outcome of the new Queen st bridge will be similar in terms of both style and the near doubling of “sidewalk” space underneath. This pic was taken at the new Eastern bridge today and you can see the old...

Railings are in and you can really see the scale of some of those awesome terraces…. Hope to see window’s soon!

I agree and am dying to see the windows and sliding doors go in soon (hopefully)!!!

It’s at least being built quickly but Mx outright lied about having “graffiti proof” finishes that we all know don’t exist so a tad annoyed we’re going to have miles of graffiti covered walls with no city budget to address their clean up…. The community begged for vines or other alternates like...

Does anybody know why the “concrete” wall along the corridor Southcott Eastern is being framed up to be dramatically higher than north of eastern Ave? U can see it rising in the background of the attached picture

Yup. North American standards are so low that some people would actually defend a 7-10 year timeline for 16km of “subway” when other countries can build an entire network of subways and entire cities in less time, but I digress because at least something is now being done. Although it is...

Agree! It’s going to be a lot brighter and less dingy and soggy under there

LOL Never said I was worried - are you? It's a hypothesis derived from the reality that Mx and their contractor have a 100% history of not delivering ANY project on time (or on budget) that I’m factoring into my hypothesis and that’s all it is. Timelines have been pushed out several times and...

I think they just need to get the GO tracks reoriented to the east as quickly as possible to even begin the OL….probably another year or 2 before the GO tracks are fully relocated on the new eastern side of the bridges that run thru the area… Dundas and Logan are only partly done and Gerard...
