I agree this does look like it may be aA's work, which is a little disappointing in my view. I'm not anti-aA, but I'm not sure I would want them designing a building that will stand front and centre on our skyline. They design quality buildings, but I haven't seen one that screams "landmark."...

What's the deal with subways on this piece of land anyways? It will be not only be rather dense, but also have quite a few attractions (parks, shops, and depending on what WT meant by "compromise" with the Ford's, maybe more). The land is also mostly vacant as it stands right now; would it...

Cyclists? Pedestrians? Drivers? Who is to Blame for Urban Tension?

I agree, the cars are far ahead, but that may have more to do with the fact they are bigger, more powerful, and faster than bikes. I don't believe that was the implication that I made. I implied that they shared the blame, contrary to the beliefs of some on this board.

Cyclists? Pedestrians? Drivers? Who is to Blame for Urban Tension?

So you have never been walking downtown and seen a cyclist do anything wrong? Running through red lights and stop signs? Riding on the sidewalk? Cut into traffic without looking? Not staying within their lane? Because I see this stuff everyday and have been nearly hit on more then one occasion...

It's not terrible, but considering the area, it definitely could be better. In particular, some stone would be nice. The residential building kind of has a One Bloor thing going on. The office component is a box with a jagged roof. Pretty unimpressive, but could look decent if they were to...

It is, but it doesn't appear to be this site. It looks like it is on the parking lot behind the Harbour Commission Building (which is odd, since no tower has been proposed on that site that I know of). I could be wrong though.

Looks good, although I'd prefer if they used a different colour then light blue. Even a darker blue, like Ice might look good here.

Too bad, so sad for the EU and Japan.

If this continues to occur, Lanterra should be blackballed by the city for future developments. They clearly have issues with the quality of their workmanship.

    Toronto 2020 Olympic Bid

Couldn't agree more. What is even more frustrating is that the Pan Am Games was supposed to be a precursor to the Olympics. It was supposed to put some infrastructure in place and prove that we could successfully host an international athletics competition. It was the path Rio followed, and...

    Toronto Toronto | Sun Life Financial Tower & Harbour Plaza Residences | 236.51m | 67s | Menkes | Sweeny &Co

There's an opportunity for some great architecture and height between this site and the flatiron one. Hopefully our developers don't cheap out on the design and materials as they do far too often. A red granite building, like Scotiabank Plaza, would definitely fit well here as illustrated in...

Donald Trump runs an even more successful business. Would you like me to provide some of his "solutions" to the problems the US is currently facing? Hint: Most of them are entirely impractical.

Nope, you are certainly not the only one. The building itself isn't too remarkable, and is in pretty poor shape, but with the amount of green and blue in the area, it beats a condominium anyday. Now... if the architects/developers would be willing to use bricks, stone, or black glass for this...
