You are right, it is pretty tight, however I do believe that the off-ramp will be torn down. Could be wrong though.

Residence College Hotel new Lecture Hall (90 Gerrard St. W, 2s, DSAI)

I don't think so, unless things have changed. According to the demo company's website they are demolishing the entire building: http://www.aimgroup.ca/case-studies/university-health-network/

I understand. I believe this is a terminology issue. What you are referring to is called "bored piling". Both "pile driving" and "bored piling" are processes used for shoring during excavation. Anyways, still great to see some activity on the site.

Okay I'm confused . What is the difference between the two. Isn't a "shoring machine" a pile-driver used for shoring??

According to the presentation slides for the community meeting ragarding the Bay Street Reno, they are not touching the side walks around "new developments". So I guess the lights are here to stay. I would think that they might take them down during the construction phase though.

Well not really... This "shoring machine" you speak of is actually a pile-driver.

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

Miller did a presentation at my school the other day and someone asked about bike lanes on Bloor. He said that they are looking at creating rush-hour only lanes where during the morning the south parking lane will be used only for cyclists travelling into the core, obviously the opposite when...

I'm afraid that you have been miss-informed about the benefits of 'white roofs' and furthermore the impacts of the heat island effect. The heat island effect has more to do with air quality, storm water runoff and reductions in heating/cooling then directly reducing global warming and the solar...

Relax…..We want the new trains to come as fast as you do, but in reality things don’t always materialize as planned. The main thing is that the new trains will come eventually (a point not being said by these select members you mentioned in the Trump thread), we’ll just have to be patient...:)...

A TTC electrical engineer came to do a guest lecture for one of my classes last week about TTC’s energy storage projects. When asked about the new subway cars he gave a timeline very similar to the one mentioned by forum member Agram. The new trains are to arrive in the spring/early summer...
