OK cool I had no idea Hapag-Lloyd even did cruises, never mind ones that came to Toronto. Pretty interesting!

The Hanseatic Inspiration is the cruise ship that serves Toronto. Very cool :)
Yeah I can't comprehend those who say the speed of transit doesn't matter. Anything we can do to improve speeds should be considered. I'm not saying all stops should be removed, for instance, but they really need to rationalize the number of bus/streetcar stops, as well as do whatever they have...
Yeah as much as I love cities with actual cruise ships, Toronto does not get those. Is it even possible for those huge cruise ships to come down the St Lawrence this far? I'm guessing no.
I don't mind kicking out the island residents.
But for me, the issue with the island is the lack of services. There should be more and better restaurants, better ferry facilities. Let the island residents' leases expire and don't renew them.
I'm not sure about the airport, but we can do a lot...

Not sure if's worth mentioning here, but the former Wholesale Club at Central Parkway & Confederation (near MCC) is being rebranded to No Frills. Here's the thread where I read about it on Reddit
I think I saw Enemy either at TIFF or maybe at the Varsity theatre. I don't recall being overly impressed but I enjoyed seeing Toronto (and Mississauga) on the big screen.
I actually didn't mind either of the campaigns. Sometimes people need to be shamed to do the right thing. And shaming isn't even as effective as it once was.
TBH there's plenty of Presto machines at the stairs to the platforms and all over. I don't think that is a problem. You don't need to wait to the last minute to tap on.
The reason that people congregate at the departure boards is to see what platform their train is at. Someone coming from the subway won't be sticking around the subway station entrance when they see what platform they're at, and if they don't see their platform, they'll continue walking to where...
