    Toronto Toronto | East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

Between this and the bare-bones East Harbour transit hub I'm not sure many cities are better at flubbing these once-in-a-generation blank slate opportunities.

    Toronto Toronto | Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

Yes you're absolutely right. Any idea where the sales are at?

    Toronto Toronto | Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

They're further ahead than I realized! Given the market, are we going to see the other two towers under construction anytime soon?

    Toronto Toronto | College Park Redevelopment | 333.37m | 96s | GWL | Hariri Pontarini

I wonder how much it would cost to complete it as originally envisioned.

    Toronto Toronto | 20 Front West | 134.92m | 40s | Brookfield | Core Architects

Or...anywhere? It's another crappy, cookie-cutter condo. If 'blocking the CN Tower' is what it takes to have this not built, let's go with that.

    Toronto Toronto | Bloor–Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Because one of the main reasons this extension is being built this way is as rejection of above-ground transit. At the time, anything that wasn't a subway was seen as unfair to Scarborough, especially if it involved a transfer. I recall discussions about the cost ballooning (or doubling) were...

    Canadian Tire

I was there a few weeks ago. I could see the comparison to Walmart, definitely not Hudson's Bay.
  8. S

    Canadian Tire

I always thought Hudson's Bay had a good selection of items that were not "luxury" (as least as far as clothing is concerned) and sales that brought them down to good prices. That said, It's difficult to see how some of these Hudson's Bay brands will work at Canadian Tire. While they have a...

    Hudson's Bay Company

That's disappointing, and largely puts to rest the idea that she wanted to save Hudson's Bay. I hope she's successful in her venture though, there's definitely potential despite the challenges. If I were Canadian Tire I'd run the downtown store as a destination store Hudson's Bay - kind of like...

    Toronto Toronto | Bloor Collegiate Replacement School | 16.8m | 4s | TDSB | Snyder

Welcome to Toronto. :) They should've kept the original.
  11. S

    Hudson's Bay Company

This makes a lot of sense, I'm just not sure Canadian Tire (as others have mentioned) has any interest in running Hudson's Bay stores. It seems necessary, as a lot of Hudson's Bay brands don't seem like a fit for Canadian Tire. If it were up to me, I'd open up Hudson's Bay in a few major...

    Hudson's Bay Company

I'm cautiously optimistic. Agree it's not an obvious fit (them being a Canadian company seems to be the main draw here). I guess this ends the possibility of a new owner (like Weihong Liu) operating even some of the existing locations as Hudson's Bay stores? Will definitely miss Hudson's Bay...

    Toronto Toronto | Beltline Yards | 190.15m | 55s | Hullmark | Allies and Morrison

Is this an area where all those single family homes will eventually/likely be purchased for re-development?

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Place | ?m | ?s | Infrastructure ON

Hard to believe it's actually happening. Wish I'd visited before the demolition started.

Toronto Toronto | St Lawrence Market North | 25.3m | 5s | City of Toronto | Rogers Stirk Harbour

When I saw this I thought it was a completely different proposal from another firm (that lost). No wonder there was excitement. The current project is almost completely different (and a big downgrade IMO).

Toronto Toronto | St Lawrence Market North | 25.3m | 5s | City of Toronto | Rogers Stirk Harbour

I recall excitement at this being the winning proposal, but I can't help but feel underwhelmed. Perhaps that will change once it's open.

    Toronto Toronto | West Don Lands: Block 13 | 139.31m | 43s | Dream | Henriquez Partners

Wow. This has transformed from one of my favourite upcoming projects in the city to yet another forgettable, bland "Toronto" condo.

    Toronto Toronto | Waterfront Innovation Centre | 53.03m | 11s | Waterfront Toronto | Sweeny &Co

If only the Mississauga inspiration came from Port Credit instead of Meadowvale...

    Toronto Toronto | 110 Eglinton East | 236.55m | 61s | Madison Group | Rafael Viñoly

I really like the design. It seems simple enough that they won't have to 'value engineer' anything either, or at the very least it can be kept to a minimum. The splash of colour is welcome in this area. Would be great if the 2nd set of towers had a different shade.

Toronto Toronto | East Harbour GO and Ontario Line Station | 14.35m | 1s | Metrolinx

I can't believe we're bungling these once-in-a-generation opportunities so badly.
