Population of Toronto (Including Census Counts)

I recall similar skepticism und the 2016 number as it was essentially flat.....can't specifically say people called it an "undercount" but people did doubt the number.

Population of Toronto (Including Census Counts)

I have a theory. Mississauga may be in a pause before launching higher.....leading up to 2016 they essentially ran out of land for ground based housing (the traditional growth for all burbs).....so their future growth had to be up....but those types of new housing take years to build after a...

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

My post was a tongue-in-cheek joke about buses (see included winky face) having to be "stuck in traffic" (from the post I responded to. But to be clear, yes....each form of system has advantages and disadvantages in different circumstances.

Because it is impossible to give busses a right of way.?😏

not aimed at you...it is just a bit silly that they keep repeating this rather obvious error.

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

it literally still says Main Street to Brampton GO in that slide

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

They keep repeating this stupid line in all their presentations: Fully funded Light Rail Transit from Main Street to Brampton GO (Provincial ask $850M Surely they mean from Steeles to Brampton GO.......presentations lose/lack credibitlity when they start with such a dumb, easy to spot/change/...

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Maybe i have this wrong...but the Mississauga loop is far more extensive than a simple "dead end" turn around....isn't a +/- minus 2 mile loop around the businesses residences of the MCC with multiple (3?) stops and running in both directions in mixed traffic? Would they really have cut this...

There is one kinda obvious advantage....escalators need maintenance and sometimes break.....having them split allows that to be done in stages and allows for better passenger experience while the work is being done.

I think they enjoy having a logistics facility/warehouse at this location.

These lands...the pink stripy bits are not owned by the proponent and people are wondering why they asked, and the city agreed, to include them. https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threads/go-transit-service-thread-including-extensions.4952/post-1777962

    Brampton Toronto | 31-33 George Street North | 153.95m | 42s | Greenwin | Sweeny &Co

I really like (and hope it survives) the inclusion of a small hotel component in this project. One (of the many) things that have held DT Brampton back is things missing that are in most city cores .....and some sort of hotel is on that list (others like small things like higher level govt...

Canadian Tire and Choice are objecting to the MZO that has been requested for the lands on the North West quadrant of Steeles and Bramalea (across from the GO station) but which also encompasses (not sure why, never read it) their lands on the SouthWest.

A little over a month from the first TFC home match...any idea where they are in the early works? Has the current north side tunnel entrance been closed? Has the new, narrower, one opened? The bridge scheduled for installation?

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

your right but i am seeing people (not you) suggesting that they actively went out and relooked at it and came back strongly in favour of it. I watched the meeting yesterday and the Mayor assured the councillor (Whillains) who wanted it re-opened that he had spoken to an MPP who was open to...

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I think the theory is that a bi-directional loop of, what, 2 miles in circumference would cost more to build than a elevated y of much shorter distance. Factor in the operational aspects of trip lengths....someone killed the loop.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

They did not overturn their support is more accurate......there was a motion to reopen the item and it needed a 2/3 majority to do that...they did not get it.

New Rogers Brampton Campus (Rogers, ?, ?)

I read your very good summary on it and I think you and I are in agreement....there is absolutely nothing wrong with what is going on, or proposed, for the site in DT (although the "rush' is interesting as that piece of dirt crossed my desk several times over the past 20 years or so and nothing...
