Please explain how it would be better for Eataly to open inside the former Pickle Barrel at the Atrium, instead of the Eaton Centre. Would it be like the TARDIS? Based on your comments in this thread, it seems like you've never been inside an Eataly location.

It looks like Cadillac Fairview is trying to make Level 1 the main shoe section of the mall...so far we have Skechers, B2, Nike, Adidas, Call It Spring, Softmoc, Under Armour, Foot Locker, Foot Locker Kids, plus Steve Madden, Journeys and Aldo further down the hall.

ok @Northern Light twist my arm, hahaha... Applications have been made and permits granted for interior re-demising of all 3 levels of the former Nordstrom box, along with demolition of the existing exterior facade in preparation for "future tenants"...which have not yet been announced. New...

The Berczy Tavern will be opening in the former Papillon on Front space at 69 Front St. East. It's a new project from Michael Angeloni, who also runs Amano Trattoria and Bar Notte around the corner at Church and Esplanade.

The Queen Street store hours for the ground floor and upper levels are now open until 8pm. The basement is still open until 9pm. Pusateri's still closes early. Regarding the escalators not being on, I read on another site that the rumour is HBC owes their escalator maintenance company a huge...

This looks like a nice spot and the cocktails seem well-crafted, but am I crazy for thinking the pricing is just a little on the high side of things? $25-$29 for a cocktail and $15 for 3 pieces of Har Gow? Also, downstairs at Cafe Renee, $36 for a half-dozen of Kumamoto oysters (misspelled as...

The Grand Opening of Queen's Cross Food Hall will be next Wednesday, April 24. The space has been cleaned up compared to last week. They are currently in the process of training staff, and there may possibly be a soft opening in the days leading up to next week.

Some quick pics of the forthcoming Queen's Cross Food Hall - it looks like it should be ready to open within the next few weeks. There is also a dedicated "pick-up" area in the back, which is the last picture.

The Queen Street store is also currently on "special winter hours", where the majority of the store closes at 7pm (from the ground floor and up). The only exception is the basement level that has the housewares and the Zellers' Pop-Up, which is open until 9pm. Pusateri's also closes early. The...

Toronto non-mall retail (Odds & Ends)

You took the words right out of my mouth. It's easier to just take a trip to any T&T, H-Mart or Asian grocery store and get way more interesting snacks for less than what Trap/Dank/Stank Mart is selling them for. No wonder they're all going out of business.

Mad Radish will be opening a new location at King and Yonge, beside Starbucks, where the "box'd by Paramount" used to be.

Cole Haan will be opening a new store beside Little Burgundy on Level 2. The signage for the upcoming Queen's Cross food hall has gone up. Construction appears to be progessing inside.

News on retail chains (was: New Mall Retail)

They've been owned by Bell for quite a while now, since 2009/2010. The remaining "The Source" stores that are left will be rebranded to "Best Buy Express".

If Marshalls at Aura ever closes, Ikea should expand to that level as well. Does Ingka Group own the 3rd floor of the podium? If Indigo will be moving to the current Harry Rosen space, provided that HR moves next door to 2 Queen West, that means they'll be majorly downsizing. It will also leave...

Just a theory...Winners on Level 2 of The Tenor is just over 25K square feet as well, so it's possible that they're leaving for the Old Navy space in TEC, which is the same size. The Ballroom Bowl is supposed to take at least 15K sq ft of the food court above on Level 3, so could they be...
