    67 Adelaide St E Revovation (Na-Me-Res, 4s, Hilditch)

This new design/architectural treatment looks like it belongs somewhere between 1987 and 1993. If this is permitted to proceed as shown, it is a perfect case study as to why so few older, handsome buildings constructed with high quality materials remain in Toronto.

    67 Adelaide St E Revovation (Na-Me-Res, 4s, Hilditch)

Updated render shown below. Architect is Charles Rosenberg of Hilditch Architecture. They seem to specialize in shelters, community buildings etc. Will do my best to accurately recall the details: I commented in the meeting that the architecture/design is quite disappointing and noted that...

    St Lawrence Market

The City could and should do a better job of spreading them out. The St. Lawrence neighbourhood is disproportionately heavy on shelters and the current situation is upsetting a lot of residents.

    67 Adelaide St E Revovation (Na-Me-Res, 4s, Hilditch)

Understanding that renderings do change, this seems to appear to be their "best foot forward" since it is their initial image release and outreach to the community. The biggest disappointment that I see is that they seem to be proposing some sort of panelling system or cladding that covers the...

Totally agree. It amazes me that anyone actually thinks this looks good and is an improvement. Keep in mind that the City owns this building and is therefore the actual client!

I just posted this in the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood section and thought it might be of interest to the larger group due to the new rendering included.....

    St Lawrence Market

Attached is the actual notice that was sent out to some addresses nearby. Pretty disappointing to see the proposed rendering. Appears to be some sort of cladding to go over the limestone. Agreed that this area (of which I too live in) is getting pretty slammed with shelters, drug...

    Toronto Toronto | The Berczy | 41.76m | 13s | Concert | Arcadis

My wife and I went by the Berczy last week on our way to dinner and she asked me when they were going to put the finish material on the upper half of the building. That comment pretty much sums this one up in my view...

    Toronto Toronto | The Berczy | 41.76m | 13s | Concert | Arcadis

I was walking by Berczy yesterday and I noticed something that looks like beam sticking out through the east facade. Anyone know what they are?

I agree. And their ads in Azure aren't much better. They seem verbose and a waste of money!

    Toronto Toronto | Bisha Hotel and Residences | 146.91m | 44s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

Anything new on this? I was speaking to a cpl of brokers recently who say they think this project is not doing well. They heard 50% sold which probably means 25%. All those shared facilities and potential impact on condo fees withe hotel would scare me as a potential buyer.

    Toronto Toronto | Cinema Tower | 142.64m | 43s | Daniels | Kirkor Architects

They may be doing some quiet bulk buys with their top producing brokers but nothing to the public yet.

This is serious glazing! Too bad more condos didn't have this sort of budget for their glass.

    Toronto Toronto | Living Shangri-La Toronto | 214.57m | 66s | Westbank | James Cheng

I think this is going to be a great project. Probably not as visually appealing as the Ritz from an architectural view point but a really good building none the less. Shangri-la has been making alot of advances on the hotel scene of late. Their new portfolio of hotels is infinitely better...

    Toronto Toronto | Minto Westside | 68.88m | 20s | Minto Group | Wallman Architects

I was at the public meeting for this site as well as the meeting back when Architects Alliance submitted a proposal a year or two ago. The aA one was top notch compared to this. Wallman seems to be designing the majority of downtown sites these days.

    Toronto Toronto | Market Wharf | 110.33m | 33s | Context Development | a—A

It's amusing how factually inaccurate some posts are on here. We bought a unit here as we are repeat Context buyers. You can view construction update photos on the market wharf website and as of October (see attached pic from October construction update) there was still excavation going on...

Ninety Condos, The (Harhay Construction) - Real Estate -

gas fireplaces I find your question a little confusing. Pre-con condos to me, are pre-construction condos that you buy from plans. If this is the case, its an easy solution. If your builder offers gas, a fireplace or a gas bbq outlet on the balcony is an upgrade and easily doable. If...

    Toronto Toronto | Bisha Hotel and Residences | 146.91m | 44s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

It looks pretty tacky to me. Expensive but tacky. In a Russian Oligarch sort of way.

    Toronto Toronto | Bisha Hotel and Residences | 146.91m | 44s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

Sales Have been told from a variety of sources that Bisha is 25% sold which when compared to other recent launches is poor. And since the numbers are always inflated, it is probably less than 25%. FYI only.
