Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | Metrolinx

I've lost track - over the nearly 600 pages here, does anyone know how many times this exact discussion about 16th and Major Mac and "what about this idea of mine...." has happened before? I'm setting the Over/Under at 8.5 and taking a Same Day Parlay on how many trains will turn back at...

They started mobilizing there by the time the contract was announced. I haven't had a chance to go by and get pictures but you can see the cranes etc driving by, from Yonge, 7 or 407 and you can get a decent ground-level view of the work from the GO lot on Langataf.

Hopefully the cheers will be loud enough to drown out any stragglers here not impressed with the renovations. IMHO, the park has looked great on TV6, inside and out and as much as one might like to grumble about the front office, it's pretty hard to deny that Shapiro is very close to being...

Everyone knows that "too high" isn't a thing in baseball. https://vlipsy.com/clips/major-league-too-high-what-does-that-mean-too-high-eY3Gr19e

    Toronto Toronto | Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

It's kinda a cool idea but the sphere isn't projection. It's an absolutely massive (and expensive!) array of LED screens. I doubt the roof could be used in that way (inside or outside) but I would like to see the interior used better and I know many of us have wondered why they can't just...

    Toronto Toronto | Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Except Rogers Centre has a very liberal policy about allowing in outside food. You could go to any old Mary Browns, order everything in the menu and bring it in with you, along with an xl pizza, if you were so inclined. All that said, I'm not sure where the property lines are but there is a...

Again, it's a P3. The problem isn't presenting early designs, it's people not understanding what they're looking at. I agree, for example, that it's silly Metrolinx and IO don't coordinate so Metrolinx releases renders of station exteriors that will ultimately actually be within a TOC. It is...

Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | Metrolinx

I'm not an architect but would guess it's less a matter of "imagining" than understanding the design process and knowing how much time and effort are actually required. I mean, it's a progressive design build so the idea is that Metrolinx takes the design to a certain point and then a proponent...

The owners of Hillcrest are well ahead of you. (this is at the northeast corner but still, change is coming...) https://hillcrestmall.ca/hillcrest-residential-proposal/

If you're talking about the stuff just beside the CN tracks, that's subway launch shaft pre-construction.

I'm not sure why this has been quiet but there's an open house tomorrow night about the Emergency Exit Buildings and the materials are all online for commenting and such already. https://www.metrolinx.com/en/projects-and-programs/yonge-north-subway-extension/events/ynse-openhouse-sept-2025

The OneFare program has gone some way to resolving this issue already but this certainly implies the Agreement in Principle between the Province and York Region includes some sort of operational funding as well. https://yorkpublishing.escribemeetings.com/filestream.ashx?DocumentId=37915 Yup -...

Oh. Well, I didn't realize you lived in "a suburb," so I guess that means there is no data or anecdotal evidence I could possibly bring to bear that could disprove the entirety of suburbia (however you have personally defined it) is a terrible place. I throw up my hands, bend the knee and seek...

Read the sequence of my bullets again. I didn't say the STATION was never named Vaughan Centre. I said the GROWTH CENTRE (ie the neighbourhood) was never called Vaughan Centre. And it wasn't. The station name was a TTC proposal for a station in a different municipality that didn't accurately...

Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | Metrolinx

Unnecessary Vaughan slander aside, it's worth noting: -the actual original name for the area was Vaughan Corporate Centre -Vaughan Metropolitan Centre is its correct name, as per Places to Grow (RIP) -Vaughan Centre was never its name and it's a kind of dumb name for a station, except for the...

I don't love "Bridge" or "High Tech" as names but as has previously been stated, High Tech Station is located at High Tech Road which makes it extremely sensible (even though I'd kinda prefer something like "Richmond Hill Centre.") Bridge is located between two bridges. Could it be called...

Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | Metrolinx

This was talked about at some point but I doubt it'll happen, especially since York Region is now a funding partner. In answer to the questions of when this thing will actually open, Michael Lindsay basically didn't provide any years but made clear it can't open until after Ontario Line. So I...

It would have been nice but most current and future Cummer residents are still close to Finch or Steeles. Besides, more people getting on at Cummer means more North York Passengers filling up the trains before it gets to stations where real Torontonians live, like Eglinton and Bloor. 😁
