My thinking and hope too - Toronto is a major NA city, Apple does not really have a proper flagship for the city of this size (like it has in NY, SF, CH), and they value this level of drama/theater in their retail presence probably more than any other retailer.

Any news/rumors on who is taking the ground retail?

A potentially silly question - did the new grass on the President's Circle die or is it just seasonal? Grass in Queen's Park does not look so yellow.

How likely do you think that Apple returns to this space? Perhaps they are waiting to re-negotiate or wait until there is more clarity when this project will be retail tenant-ready.

That's a great addition to the neighborhood. Their kebab plates and shawarma are absolutely delightful and the current nearest location is all the way on Queen West. I'm excited about this one.

It's really flying now! What a sight to see.

The One - Mizrahi Developments - (Real Estate) -

"In default" means Mizrahi has not been making interest payments. Not a great sign for the financial soundness of the project. Depending on the terms, a lender could push this project into bankruptcy to negotiate more favorable repayment terms. I don't think they'll do it as Mizrahi can 'mail...

Any idea why the elevator core is not poured for the last three levels?

Am I correct to observe that the super-columns are turning into just reinforced concrete and there will be no more steel sections installed?

I wish they planted some trees along Yonge St. frontage or at least flower/shrubbery beds - the street looks so barren and inhospitable.

Does anyone know if it's still the plan too add another layer of cladding to the podium like in the renders? Or is this the final podium look?

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound patronizing.

If you attach diagonal coat hanger beams to these columns they’ll likely bend (as they are just rebar and not meant to bear that load without the concrete filling) and violate the integrity of the supercolumn skeleton. So they are pouring supercolumns together with floors (but without the...

Angle columns are not meeting at the center of the floor plate, rather at the edges of inner rectangle formed by steel braces going from super-column to super-column.

The penthouse level looks different now. It's looks double-height. I wonder what that means: is it a rooftop lounge or do the 3-level penthouse units have a different design now. I don't think any of those top-floor four 3-level units sold yet, so owner objections should not be an issue...

That's probably the missing piece in my mental picture. A tool that doesn't require a large rotational lever.

I still don't understand how these column sections are bolted together - there is hardly any space between the rebar to stick a bolt through let alone a wrench to tighten it. Would love an explanation by someone with relevant professional background.
