These people don't know anything. It's more up to the builder than property manager. With property manager you get a different answer from anyone you may ask... no one really knows anything. Living in a new building is always a shit-show... was hoping someone may have a reliable source of info.

I'm not hardcore enough to be unsatisfied with a condo gym. I do fine with the one I have now in my current condo. I'm also unsure as to how you came to the conclusion that I am not a resident. Why else would I give a shit about a condo, and its amenities if I wasn't living there. So my...

amazing. Thanks for letting me know! Anyone have idea when the gym in Tower 1 is expected to open?

Hey everyone. Couple of questions: What are the businesses on the ground level? I saw a Metro... I think there will also be a Shoppers Drug Mart and a bank?? Any more detail around this? Are they open yet? Also, any idea when the gym will be open? No one seemed to have that answer for me...

So the garage door has been broken now for close to a month. I contacted Skywater 2 weeks ago asking why it seems like nearly nothing is being done in such long a time span. Who will be liable if someone decides to walk right into our condo without any necessary key? Cars or property can be...

Ohhh yeah, good point. I'd hate to live near the patio... or near the party room... or even front entrance... or elevators for that matter. It's no different than having a unit close to the railroad tracks. You get what you pay for - location of a unit affects the value. We can't restrict access...

yes, it is repaired... they replaced the material they previously used (which looked pretty nice, but I suppose wasn't installed properly) with some sort of brick-like (hideous) material. Looks far worse, but at least it's open.

ahhhh gotcha. makes sense. I put a digital thermometer in my fridge (cheap one off eBay) a few months ago, so that should let me know if something is off. Not sure you guys have the same standard appliances I do, but how the hell does the oven know what time it is despite power blips?!?? Only...

Yeah, I'd say I get a power blip once a month or so? I never notice when it occurs though. As for checking fridge for operation - I'd think it'd be noticeable from a) no light in the fridge and b) flashing clocks!

most likely. how long ago did they shut it down? I only noticed it last weekend. I'm assuming there's no ETA

It would be logical to inform people of the change prior to making the change so people are aware and visitors aren't confused. Furthermore - the privacy issue. Strangers should not be able to see who lives in which unit by simply scrolling through the computer.

can't really compare our building with those. fast elevators/more floors, yes... but I know people who live in those buildings and they complain about "rush hour traffic" on the elevators. Some people on the top floors wait upwards of 15 minutes from the time they push the button to get down to...

maybe just not a big enough fire to set off the sprinkler. hopefully that's the case?

furnace = NG. won't affect Enersource Bill. I'm guessing time of use is your issue. Read this: http://www.enersource.com/my-home/pages/time-of-use-%28tou%29-rates.aspx I'm 730 sq. ft. My power use during peak times is very limited (mostly because I'm not home). TV, A/V system, lights...

I do - bathroom. I'd think it's a flushing toilet from the unit above... but it happens once every 2 days or so, and is very loud... I'm pretty sure the toilet gets flushed more than that?

seriously??!? That is f-ed up. So Vandyk builds this shitty condo which requires heat to be running (pretty much) outdoors for months at a time. Then to make sure no one turns it down/off they remove the dial??? I'm thinking I should talk to my lawyer. Those are an awful lot of precautions to...
