Toronto R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant | City of Toronto

From my archives back in 2017, definitely looks grand inside as well as out.

The progress is slow, but it is not zero. I walked around today and compared with the previous photos in the thread. I saw the brick that had been covered by the "Ka Chi" restaurant sign has been cleaned up. The polarizing art installation cladding also had a couple more pieces inserted.

Just curious, could there be a double standard when it comes to occupancy, in that condo buyers are forced to occupy their unit in a less-finished state compared to tenants?

It is truly baffling. Unless they have no mortgage, there's interest payments, and property taxes, maybe utilities. Just finish it so it can be rented out and generate revenue! Am I missing something here?

I took these photos on Thursday but forgot until now lol. 1. Showing the inside of the most westerly commercial unit on Bloor that abuts "Her Chef" restaurant. Maybe almost ready to be occupied? 2. This view from the laneway west of Markham. What's with this big cinder block building that is...

I walked by there just now (Friday sunset) and my feeling is that there was never an intention to make it look realistic. Where the printed panels intersect with solid colours it is very abrupt. On the other hand, I did not find a single repeating pattern in the texture, so maybe they are all...

Glad to hear there is a spectrum of responses to this installation. The developer could easily have done nothing, but decided to hire a respected Canadian artist to put something up for us. Just the putting in this effort is miles ahead of what others in town are doing. I hope this will be...

the westbank IG just put up this photo, taken before they installed the printed brick/stone facades. perhaps it is this person: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Wallace_(artist) I guess the lack of praise for this building was either due to budget cuts which affected the outcome, or we just...

That's a super weird hodge-podge design, stands out from the rest of the development in a not so good way. Until now I was holding out hope that they just forgot to peel the protective film lol... Have the printed brick pattern panels been used elsewhere? I worry it will scratch and peel.

    Toronto Toronto | River City Condos Phase 3 | 99.66m | 29s | Urban Capital | Saucier + Perrotte

DKB's got a point though, the one-way thing around "Lawren Harris Square" is frustrating beyond belief, and I also feel nostalgic for when I could drive north from there on Bayview lol...

I went for lunch today, not super crowded but some areas had longer lineups; they were not yet running on all cylinders which added to prep time. Vit Beo will start serving on Monday. The aburi sushi is identical in quality to its sister restaurants Miku/Minami. We also had the special ramen...

I will definitely check this out at some point. It was exciting to see the food hall at The Well being so popular, and I imagine there will be crowds here too. Vit Beo on Bloor is super busy at nights and hopefully this extra outpost keeps the magic. Musoshin is on the Michelin Guide, no...

For those who are upset about too many banks, we now know for sure that the BMO down the street has closed already. Hopefully it will get a tenant or be converted to a new building.

So they put banners above the main floor on the Bathurst side (see photo). I also saw "House Concepts" on the Bloor side. At least we know Bestco is still committed to opening here. I went to the Petite Colline (the banner between mirvish and kitchen) just off from Steeles and Woodbine, and...

    Toronto Toronto | Bathurst Quay Revitalization | ?m | 2s | City of Toronto | Kearns Mancini

I attended a Saturday session, and then walked to various other Doors Open sites. It was grueling enough for me with an umbrella, can't imagine the kind of day Bryan and his helper had to go through. The talk was very interesting and informative, covering so many topics from the history to the...

I took this old photo last year, posting here so I don't have to give anyone credit lol But the mural was apparently designed by Frank Stella, The news reported he passed away last weekend. RIP https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/04/style/obituary-frank-stella-intl-hnk/index.html Does anyone know...

At the bottom of the price range are the studios. I agree with the other posters that this is neither super affordable nor absurdly high. Perhaps a renter might prefer a corporate landlord over a mom-and-pop who may have limited property management skills and might sell the unit or take it back...

Saw this today, not sure where all the junk came from. The other photos didn't have it lol

The closest RBC is Bathurst and College, or Bloor and Dovercourt. Scotia has two on Bloor, at Spadina and at Dovercourt. BMO TD and CIBC are close to the Bathurst/Bloor intersection. Other than tasks that could just be done at online or at an ATM, activities that absolutely must be in-branch...

The other BMO branch, at Euclid and Bloor, has not been renovated for some time. It is presumably a larger space as there are offices in the basement. However, it does not offer good hours in terms of teller availability. Perhaps it will be improved in this new site.
