Coming along, almost fully at (or above) ground level:

Crane is up. It's the same one that they got half up then took down before - but in between they spent a couple weeks tearing up the cement pad they'd poured and putting in another, much larger one.

So - they half-finished putting the crane up on this work site last week, left it half-assembled for a week, and today they appear to be taking the entire crane down. I'm confused...

Here's hoping they get some action, it's been sitting empty (and with a whole wall missing/just covered with plastic) for a couple of years now. Last time I walked by there was a giant puddle of water on the floor inside and a giant hole that graffiti artists had used to get in.

Very emotional, his voice is cracking now....

Did anyone catch what he said? I only caught the tail end of the conversation about Ford. It sounded like he was saying that all of last week's hoopla basically means nothing, though, because Giroux has so far kept everything to himself...

Marcs Gee's column in the Globe today is pretty good.

Someone asked @ddale if he was surprised about the OPP "stepping back:"

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I think this is one of the "sources say" off-the-record situations. But I see no reason to doubt it.
  12. M

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Yup. And the star, sun, etc all back up his main point - that TPS investigators thought they had something. Of course, that doesn't really account for all the "Russian Mafia" stuff...
  13. M

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Oh man. The Ford nation gloating is gonna be unbearable... Time to pick one of the mayoral candidates and throw all the support you can behind them folks...

I'm throwing in the towel dude, it's done... FUCK indeed!

    Rob Ford's Toronto

The CROWN is apparently saying no charges: So yeah, it's over...
  16. M

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Well, this is shitstorm now no matter what happens. If there are ultimately no charges, Ford supporters are going to want heads to roll in the TPS. If there are charges at some point, then people are going to want to know why the OPP took this stance. Either way, one of these police forces...

MetroMan spinning this as a good thing: Pedro Marques ‏@MetroManTO 1m TheStar's sources (if different from mine) validates what I've been told. This is a set back but good news. The Crown is on side with TPS. Not sure I buy that "this is good news . . ."
  18. M

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Wait, can they? I thought the whole point of OPP oversight was that they would have to clear any actual charges/arrests.
  19. M

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Well, he did say that it was being held up by "political interference," and that's sure as shit what this sounds like....
