I asked one of the owners: There is some city infrastructure (water pipes?) under the patio. The city needs to have access to it if it requires maintenance or repair. The owner said they are coming up with a different solution.

There is some activity at the building at 600 Church (It used to be a lawyer's office). There is a sign posted asking for restaurant staff. Does any one know anything more?

I agree. I've lived in both London and NYC and I live here by choice. The parklets are a good reminder that we are fortunate enough to live in Toronto.

I like the Parklettes. They need some fine tuning for next year. I don't like the fact that they are sometimes just a haven for smokers from the bars. (Sorry smokers)

I just walked past The Eagle on the way home from work. The entire ground floor has been gutted. Does anyone know what happening?

Thanks AoD. I'm glad they aren't doing anything drastic to Allan Gardens.

This is not exactly the correct thread, but its as close as I could find. Does anyone know what's going on at Allan Gardens? I drove by on the weekend and there seems to be some construction activity near the south east corner. It looks like pylons are going up.

I had a burger and fries for lunch at Acme Burger today. The fries were delicious and the burger was very good. Both were much better than Hero Burger accross the street, but not quite as good as Craft Burger (now Big Smoke Burger) on Yonge near the reference library. The menu selection looks...

What's are some the best small venue theatres in Toronto?

Hart House Theatre at U of T is one of my favourites in the city. It has good sightlines throught. Also, some of the U of T productions can be very good, and they are inexpensive.

A friend of mine (OK, my boyfriend) is thinking of buying a condo at 60 Homewood. Does anybody know anything about this building? Is it relatively quiet and clean? Any comments about the building residents? Any other comments would be welcome. Thanks

Rumour had it the the old Bigliardi's space was going to become a strip joint. There is a liquor license application posted on the door, but the notice says it is for Pizzaiola, the pizza place that takes up part of the space. Does anyone know what is really happening there? I also noticed...

I went to Boutique with a couple of friends this week. Its nice. The patio is great for people watching, and its shaded from the afternoon sun so it is very comfortable. They need more chairs along the side, and they need to make it look more lively and inviting. I hope it succeeds.

I spoke to some people working on the space where Aveda used to be. (The nice patio right beside Crews/Tango.) Apparently it is going to be a new bar called "Boutique Bar". They hope to open soon.

Yes that was the name. I was trying to remember. I only Tthere a few times. The archetectural details of the house make up for some of the noise from the cars racing by.

Elevate now open, but doesn't appear to have a lot of business. They don't appear to be marketing themselves at all.

You could also try Craft Burger on Yonge across from the Reference Library. I like Hero, but Craft is better than that or GBC. Their fries are magnificent!

Has anyone been to Elevate? It always appears to be closed when I walk by.
