I'm curious about the real impact of this item. As far as I know the space in front of the building has been open and accessible. Will they be adding lighting or seating?

I am struggling to understand where the pedestrian tunnel leads. The little man just appears to be on the sidewalk. Is the tunnel supposed to cross the intersection to the streetcar stops? ETA: or is the so-called pedestrian tunnel just the temporary area on the sidewalk, not anything to do...

I was looking at Matt Elliott'a coverage of today's council meeting. What's up with Brad Bradford asking to look at exempting "cultural organizations" from noise permit fees? It just seems a little odd when all of the other noise related items seem to be about enforcing noise complaints.

Yes -- the news at the time seemed unclear because it was so focused on the lack of opening date and promise that we would get it 3 months before. I couldn't find any stories that also mentioned when the next status update was due.

How shocking that is really depends on what 100% represents and whether the percentage includes any weighting of the components or just a count of issues. I am assuming that it is based on outstanding issues as of a certain point in time and not the building of the whole line.

I thought they had abandoned the "every two months" as of the last update and said "look, we'll provide an update when the opening is known to be 2 months [or 4 weeks or some other length of time] out"? Did I misunderstand/misremember that? ETA: In this story they don't say anything about...

Having a Toronto campus won't offer the drinking age of 18 which I thought was part of McGill's attraction for Ontario students.

Huh? John Tory was a part of these negotiations between the city and the province? I can maybe understand that he might be giving advice to the province under the circumstances, but what does it mean to say that Tory is taking advice since he has no current political role? Or is this about when...
