There is a survey on the city's website regarding commemorative benches and trees if anyone is interested in completing it. https://www.toronto.ca/city-government/awards-tributes/tributes/commemorative-items-in-parks/

It's an interesting idea but I think the distance from the opposite corners is pretty long. How long would it take a slower pedestrian to get from say the northeast corner all the way over to the southwest?

Bad Egg now has a sign announcing they will open June 17 (Monday).

I don't know how the different parts of the Rogers campus are laid out and how people travel between buildings. There is an obvious entrance at 333 Bloor St E on the southeast corner. The fingerpointer is on the northwest corner and if it is supposed to be directing people to that Bloor St...

Speaking of wayfinding, I have seen some very tasteful little black pointers around. Are these used city-wide or only in certain neighbourhoods? Are they funded by the local BIA? I was scratching my head over why the Rogers Building rates a mention on the signage at Bloor and Ted Rogers Way...

Are the wraps over the windows solid? There was a time when they were made up of dots so that they looked fine from the outside but from the inside you could still see out. I haven't noticed any issue looking out from the inside but I walk more than I take transit most days so I have not been...

Noticed today that New Chamsine on the southeast corner of Queen & Sherbourne is gone and the space is for lease.

    Distillery District

    Does the city own it?

I'm curious about the real impact of this item. As far as I know the space in front of the building has been open and accessible. Will they be adding lighting or seating?

I am struggling to understand where the pedestrian tunnel leads. The little man just appears to be on the sidewalk. Is the tunnel supposed to cross the intersection to the streetcar stops? ETA: or is the so-called pedestrian tunnel just the temporary area on the sidewalk, not anything to do...

This morning I see the former Fusaro's now has signage promising Bad Egg and Juice to Go.

I must be missing something. Up from what?

Motorino Citta appears to be gone now as well. It was dark when I went past the other day and when I look at https://www.motorinoenoteca.com/discover only Vaughan and King City are listed.

I was looking at Matt Elliott'a coverage of today's council meeting. What's up with Brad Bradford asking to look at exempting "cultural organizations" from noise permit fees? It just seems a little odd when all of the other noise related items seem to be about enforcing noise complaints.

Hm. Was it expressed as likely opening in September or just both would be open by September (could open earlier)?

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Yes -- the news at the time seemed unclear because it was so focused on the lack of opening date and promise that we would get it 3 months before. I couldn't find any stories that also mentioned when the next status update was due.

How shocking that is really depends on what 100% represents and whether the percentage includes any weighting of the components or just a count of issues. I am assuming that it is based on outstanding issues as of a certain point in time and not the building of the whole line.

I thought they had abandoned the "every two months" as of the last update and said "look, we'll provide an update when the opening is known to be 2 months [or 4 weeks or some other length of time] out"? Did I misunderstand/misremember that? ETA: In this story they don't say anything about...

    McGill in Toronto

Having a Toronto campus won't offer the drinking age of 18 which I thought was part of McGill's attraction for Ontario students.

Just noticed that Fusaro's at Richmond and Sherbourne has closed.
