    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I still don't see how this is an issue. So many duplicate station names in NYC and FDNY does not have a problem with this. It's the operator's duty to get this information from the caller. "Hello I am in trouble at Islington station" "Are you on the Bloor line or Eglinton line" "Eglinton" (or...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

New York's R train has a 23rd St in Manhattan and a 25th St in Brooklyn; its B train has two Seventh Avenue stops; and Chicago's 'L' has 5 stations named Western (with two being on the Blue line). People can figure it out. It's obvious that Islington station on the Bloor line is at Islington and...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Interesting that the bus stop is marked TTC when this is a miway only stop. The 50 turns in the loop just east of Mill.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

On the northbound approach to Sheppard West, there appears to be a knockout section and a tunnel bellmouth. Was this for a future Sheppard subway connection? Screenshot from:

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Rather than interlining with Line 1 in the west, my idea would be to cut straight across (or dip south) into the Downsview park lands, then proceed west along Sheppard. This puts service into the airport lands redevelopment. If they build the line-to-line connections the same as they did at...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

I took this on the last full day of service. I wanted to get some shots in while the weather was still summery -- didn't think that it would be my last chance to do it! "Here today, gone tomorrow."

Good news, there are still plans for a bridge

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Were there ever any proposals on how a westward extension would look? There's not much runway between Senlac and Earl Bales if they want to have a Senlac station and tunnel under. A parallel bridge will be tricky because of the apartment buildings on the west. The solution I see is that they...

Passing a signal displaying red/red and getting tripped. Signals that control interlockings are known as 'homeballs'.

Very good ones, actually. Installation isn't Design. The engineers aren't the ones building it wrong.

First I've heard of this -- are they planning a spanish solution type deal there?

It's not an equipment allocation issue, it's a maintenance of way issue.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I've noticed recently a lot of destination sign problems -- particularly plaguing the 501WB. The entire car will have blank signage. I don't know if it's a bungled software update or something. Really odd that it'd mainly affect one direction of one route.

News on retail chains (was: New Mall Retail)

Their discount banners like No Frills barely dole out any points. It also depends on what you get -- fruit and veg never earn. I remember months of regular groceries at NF and finally getting 100 points for a lemon. They're most generous on labels they own and other high margin products.

The corners can't be poured until the steel hangers have been attached, and the core must advance up to the point where the hangers attach for that to proceed

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I think that has to do with geometry of the diverging path (it is still a small radius) or signal rules (the entering train is restricted by the approach signal or stop signal at the end of the pocket.)
