It's available in this article. It's linked under "Additional Resources" https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1004348/ontario-advancing-construction-on-the-eglinton-crosstown-west-extension

It boggles my mind why there isn't a covered connection between the Mississauga Transitway entrance building and the ECWE entrance building. The only thing separating them is a bus access road to the transitway. They really need to release the proper architectural drawings for these stations...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5: Martin Grove Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Just want to add that Martin Grove station is the only one of the underground stations that will have a secondary exit on the opposite side of the road as well. I don't think this fact has been clearly shown in many places. Even the recent Metrolinx rendering only shows the north-west main...

I mean, Metrolinx never claimed a 2025 opening for the West extension. It was 2027 originally and was quickly changed to 2031 even before construction started. And seeing the progress, it looks like this date is definitely achievable. This is in stark contrast to the Crosstown where we still...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

To be fair, the older Bloor Danforth bridge constructions were also fairly intensive with the clear cutting. Old Mill station: Rosedale valley bridge: The cutting for OL does seem more excessive than these examples but not by too much. We'll have to wait and see the satellite pics of the...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The Ontario Line is being touted as having cost savings by having 90m stations vs 150m (typical TTC subway station) stations. Also, it's not just truckloads of dirt being carried away, you also have vastly reduced square footage to finish as station interiors, lesser ventilation requirements for...

They aren't single use. They definitely can be dis-assembled, refurbished, and re-assembled elsewhere for further tunnelling. Infact I remember reading at the time that even the Eglinton TBMs didn't tunnel directly under Eglinton or Eglinton west stations. They moved them piece by piece from...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Ideally we'd be doing just that and reusing the TBMs for OL or Yonge north. I do remember that the TBMs used on the Line 1 extension to Vaughan were both either sold or scrapped. One of the reasons used was that the TBMs are smaller than the LRT tunnels on Eglinton. Knowing Metrolinx tho, I'm...

I am super excited when I realize that this building is supposed to be more than 100 m taller than CIBC Square! It'll definitely dwarf every building in its nearby vicinity!

Will this be the tallest crane ever erected in Toronto? Given the 328m height of the building, the cab of this crane should be at least 330 to 340m tall and the arm should extent up another 30-40m above that! Has Toronto ever had a crane this tall before?

I've always used Yellow line, Green line, Blue line, and Pink line. It's far more straightforward for me that way. I've also heard others use colours as the identification.

Interesting, I saw construction crews and piling rigs onsite today when I drove by at 2:30. Was driving so couldn't take any pictures. If anyone else happens to go by, can you please confirm if what I saw was correct? I wouldn't have a reason to drive by there for another couple weeks at least.

I wonder why you think anyone would "decide to keep the building going" knowing that they'd be losing hundreds of millions. Do you know more about the finances of the building than these people who are invested heavily in the finances of this building? No one here is pretending as though The...

Has the city agreed with the separation distance between the proposed building and the hydro lines? I thought they were still pending that approval. The hydro lines is also the reason the Kipling terminal is so far away from the TTC station. The city doesn't like things below or near those lines.

Thanks for the shot! Anyone have any details on what the design for Renforth station is? How is it supposed to interface with the Mississauga transitway?

Any references for these cost over budget statements? I barely see any news of the West extension anywhere.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Agreed. Look at Line 1 through Allen Rd. It's not the easiest to get to the stations and the highway makes it so the station boxes are away from any other buildings in the area making it less inviting to get to by foot. Additionally, there wouldn't be much ridership on the northern 407 stations...

Here's an idea that has a lot of holes in it but would be nice. Taking Burnhamthorpe as an example, take away 2 lanes of traffic and the centre turning lane. Move the remaining 4 lanes of traffic to the north side of the current right of way. Put in an urban plaza or park on the south side of...

Another update from the Eglinton West LRT Twitter account: Definitely a well made video on how the tunneling happens. It could be a little more clearer on how the TBM does the installation of the tunnel liners and subsequently pushing off them to further perform the tunneling.
