They did the same in St. Albert a few years ago by building a large brand spankin' new Paul Kane High School right behind the old one and then tore down the old one when it was ready. New Paul Kane looks really nice and I bet the students and staff love it !! 😍

I have always found The Remand to be butt ugly and no you can't compare it to the old courthouse or the old library, two incredibly beautiful historic buildings that would have added so much to an ultra modern downtown ! 😢

We must continue to densify the downtown area and at least slow down the sprawl. More towers like these will help and there’s plenty of room for more of them! 👌

If Edmonton is serious about continuing to try to get people to live downtown then they’ll have get serious about not only more high rise apartments and mid rise apartments, but also the shopping infrastructure that was mentioned here in this thread ! Don’t know why but I’m not sure Edmonton is...

Even the newer stuff is a bit on the boring side, though I don’t expect it to look like Vancouver the way our climate is on the prairie but even Calgary seems to have more interesting eye appeal on their newer downtown high rises? Just my opinion. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was wondering if anyone else had noticed that our downtown buildings are a little on the drab side as far as eye appeal goes? 🤷‍♂️😉

Just being sarcastic because I always want them to go higher, especially when the original rendering had them higher but they get dummied down. But no mistake here I’m still glad it’s going up and the height is still okay! 👍🏻
