The podium has already been hit with one dose of reality, wonder what else they’ll VE next.
Shame really though, loved the initial render, so much more expressive.
Ground floor retail has now been leased. Looks like a health food/smoothie spot from the same people that run the ‘boozy brunch’ spot The Morning After. The second floor unit with the terrace is still up for lease.
There’s also two other units across the street in 8 Mercer that’s been leased...
So glad they actually bring the brick structure down to the ground level. To other developers, look! You can have floor to ceiling glass while still providing visual support for the podium. Please stop with the 5 story faux-brick cube floating on glass tippy toes.
Wow, I used this tunnel to get to the Dom Dolla show at the amphitheatre and didn't even realize it was new and/or supposed to be permanent infrastructure. Just thought it was temporary during OL construction.
We really lack civic pride to build brand new public infrastructure like this.
Interesting, can someone with more knowledge correct my assumptions: Are they doing this because they expect to renovate the 1 Queen St East in the next decade or is it more likely they're looking to sell that asset?
Looks like it might be a gym? Unless this permit is for a new gym for Hyatt
Also unrelated to Hyatt, the former Aroma spot North East of King and Charlotte is going to be a Chipotle.
Unless there's news I missed, I think it'll be many many years till 388 King West gets built, at least in its current commercial/retail form. 411 King West would also add some variety to this stretch of King but that's been dormant even longer I believe.
Lot of similarities between this and Theatre District, not surprising as they’re both Plaza BDPQ projects, so I expect the tower cladding to be similar too
This joke is played to death, if you can’t make a decent meal with a 4 burner stove and oven you’re just telling on yourself. Its not like this is Smart House on Queen W
